We are 11dp5dt (fresh, ICSI) and today is OTD. We have never had a positive test before ever and we have the faintest of lines! Really want to be hopeful but also terrified it’s a chemical. Is it normal for the line to be so faint to begin with? Or should we expect a loss? We have taken five tests of different brands and each one is a faint line!

Thank you in advance 🙏🏼

This is really positive ❤️🤞🏼 call your clinic this morning but I wouldn’t say this is a sign of chemical etc. the line is clear! X

It doesn’t help that it’s darker in real life 🙈 thank you for your response, clinic are due to call later. Keeping everything crossed! Xx

congratulations!! I’d ask clinic for hcg bloods 48 hours apart. Also try the clear blue tests which say how preg you are in weeks (prob say 1-2 now), that way in 1 week you can re-test & it should progress for you. Welcome to more waiting!! Xx

That looks good. Blood test for HCG would confirm. Wishing you the best. x

Congratulations! Different tets have different sensitivities - the one in the pic looks similar to the one my GP surgery uses and it's less sensitive and I got a really faint line on it which upset me. It did darken a bit over a few hours but I was used to the darkness and sensitivity of FRERs (the pink dye ones). No matter what test you use they should gradually darken over a few days but it can be influenced by so many factors and only way to get an accurate and definitive picture is HCGs two days apart.

We’ve actually ordered some FRER. Will maybe test again tomorrow but also have bloods tomorrow

This looks the same as the test I got on my OTD back in December. Like you I couldn't get excited and feared that the line was too faint, but the clinic reassured me that a positive is a positive. They brought me in for a HCG blood test that same day and although they didn't give me the value, the result was "absolutely positive" and the nurse commented that these particular cassettes "aren't great". So all that to say that you're definitely not out yet! Keeping everything crossed for you.

That’s exactly how I feel! The clinic were good earlier, they have booked me in for a beta for reassurance which is good. Had a bit of a bleed this afternoon though so trying hard to stay positive!
