Hi all - long time loiterer, first round IVF-er.
I am in the stims stage of our first ever IVF round and slowly baking some follicles over here for first collection for PGTA.
I know there are huge drop-offs at each stage - and super unlikely to get great numbers when I'm 42, however......at my baseline scan could see 16 follicles going into stims.
First scan (last Friday, day 5) they seemed please that 6-ish were growing nicely on my right ovary and more smaller ones on my left.
At my 2nd scan today (day 8), they can see 3 follicles on the right at approx 16mm, and getting closer to where they'd like them to be, to hope for a mature egg in each but that's it. And then some smaller (but don't seem to be progressing much from Friday).
I know "it only takes 1 egg", but as I know we have some male-factor to consider too as we go into ICSI, and then a possible high rejection rate with PGTA testing (or nothing to test), these numbers don't seem great after an optimistic baseline, followed by a good/optimistic first scan.
Am I being unrealistic?
