❤️🌈 Birth Announcement 🌈❤️

I thought I would do a post announcing our rainbow, as these posts really gave me hope when I felt like giving up on our IVF journey.

Our beautiful rainbow baby girl (still to be named!) was born on Thursday 1st Feb on her scheduled section date at 37+5. 🌈 She had some difficulties with breathing to begin with and was on oxygen for 30mins but suddenly perked up and just managed to avoid NICU admission 🥳🥳 she was a lot smaller than expected (6lb 11oz) and has had some issues learning to latch, but we are slowly getting there 💪🏼

We are over the moon to finally have her here and safe after what feels like such a long journey 🙏❤️🌈 We had never had trouble conceiving until we lost our daughter Lila in 2020 (conceived naturally) after my waters broke prematurely, even with a cervical stitch in place. We had one miscarriage and one living child (both conceive naturally) before her. But after she died, we TTC for just under 2 years with not even a sniff of a BFP, and finally diagnosed with unexplained secondary infertility.

We had 4 IVF transfers (two fresh cycles) which resulted in a query ectopic (fresh transfer), a miscarriage at 10 weeks (FET), a BFN (fresh), and then finally pregnant with our rainbow girl (FET) ❤️

It wasn’t a smooth pregnancy at all - we were at high risk of premature labour again and losing her like we did with Lila (I had a permanent cervical stitch this time). And then she was diagnosed with ventriculomegaly at 20 weeks (too much fluid on the brain) and it was a nightmare couple of months, back and forth from fetal medicine. But she has been seen by the neonatologists just after birth and they are happy so far. She will have another MRI and checks in a couple of months and regular progress checks, but we are optimistic! 🤞

I am so grateful to all of the amazing women on this group 🙏❤️ you kept me sane and positive when I couldn’t see the light. Thank you so much. I’m rooting for every single one of you! 💪🏼🌈❤️🙏🤞

Sending many heartfelt congratulations 💗. You have been through so much and having an already difficult pregnancy after miscarriage and losing precious Lila become more stressful must have been beyond challenging with so much anxiety and worry.

I am so pleased that your beautiful rainbow daughter is here safe and sound. we were also on the ivf thread on sands so it is so nice to hear your happy news. your story brings so much hope. I wish you all health and happiness xx

It’s so nice to see when someone who’s struggled so much has some good news in their life after such sadness. Lots of us can relate to the gruelling process of ivf & heartbreak of baby loss so I feel so much joy for others when it works ♥️

I am doing well thank you , 19 weeks along now , although anxiety is high I am finding the time is going by quite quickly. I have my 20 wk scan next wk I might feel a little at ease after that for a few days. All being well 🌈 xx
