dual stim cycle

has anyone had a dual stim cycle , 2 egg collections in one cycle ? I’m drawn to it as it will allow the shortest time to collect more eggs but I’m wary of the fact it’s relatively new .

Anyone’s experiences would be great xxx

Hi I did a duo stim cycle in Spain in 2022. I think it's relatively new in the UK but not in Spain

It is new , can I ask how it went ? Not many people do it according to the new clinic and I’m worried about side effects , safety etc xxx

I was 42 and it was my one and only go with OE before I moved onto DE. I had low AMH so I wasn't expecting much but just needed to try. I had 2 eggs collected in the first egg collection and 6 collection in the second phase. My consultant said it is common to get more eggs from the second phase.Anway only 2 embryos made it to day 5 and were sent for PGTA testing, both came back aneuploidy. I didn't have great results due to my age and AMH but I do think it's safe and a way for low responders to increase the number of eggs collected in a shorter amount of time. Google duostim and some big Spanish clinics they will have info in their blogs etc

Hey can u plz explain to me how this works? Never heard of it but might consider it down the line if my next cycles aren't successful, age isn't on our side x

it basically maximises the follicles we have i think . My new clinic have been doing it sprung two years and not many women do it as its quite expensive . I want to do batching and this was suggested to me . Xx

Hi, we've looked into duostim before, but our dr said no due to a high AMH hence risk of OHSS - duostim is for poor responders and low AMH. If you're one, it sounds like an efficient protocol.

I did two ECs back to back (just one menstrual cycle in between), and the biggest side effect I've experienced was hair loss. This could happen when you flood your system with lots of oestrogen i.e. stim drugs, I was on high dose (225-300iu/day), antagonist protocol for all my ECs.

So if you're under 40 and have some more time, it might be less impactful if you leave a couple of cycles between egg retrievals.

my AMH was 6 in August last year however my afc is always 15 and over. I used to have pcos when I was younger . I had 9 eggs retrieved , all mature eggs from my fresh cycle in November . So hard deciding what to do . Xx
