First time my two embryos got implanted - got to nearly 5000 hcg at the start of week 3 but started bleeding in New Year’s Eve.. they are gone!

I don’t think this is ever going to happen for us …

hello, really sorry to hear this. Without giving false hope, are you sure they’re gone? Bleeding isn’t always bad news xx

Sadly yes . I’ve been to my clinic every other day to measure the hcg levels and today I had a scan. I also have RA and my fertility clinic has underestimated this . Rheumatologist recommended clexane and I was not given this as my fertility doctor said it was not needed …

I did have double dose injections of progesterone since the bleeding started but then I also had two big clots

Feels so surreal

I’m so sorry :( losses are very difficult. Please don’t give up and in your follow up have a list of questions ready. If I were you I’d demand Clexane in the future based on the rheumatologist’s advice and anything else they suggest. I find planning next steps makes things a little bit easier xx

Hi Mei19

Have you spoken to your clinic? It’s probably worth either repeating the b hcg plus or minus scanning. You might need extra progesterone. Either way, you certainly need to know what’s going on and the clinic should be able to advise moving forward.

take care, will be thinking of you x

Sorry to hear this. It's hard everytime an attempt fails. But, keep the faith. Talk to and ask your clinic how best to move forward. Sending lots of positivity and light your way. x

I’m so sorry to hear this for you. I had a very similar experience. I was almost 7 weeks along after transferring 2 embryos and day after New Year’s Day I started bleeding out of nowhere. Went to the hospital and my HCG was 15,500 and ultrasound showed a sac. I passed clots and had contraction like cramping a few hours later. Next day for rescanned and the sac was gone. Happened so quickly it was devastating. Can’t believe after all we go through that these things can still happen. Do you have more embryos? I’m just trying to stay positive and it helps me to know that if the embryos didn’t make it, it’s because something was wrong. I would rather know now then at 14 weeks get bad news. Either way it sucks and I’m sorry you had to go through this. It was my first miscarriage and for whatever stupid reason I never thought it would happen to me.

I’m sorry you also started the year with a miscarriage. I’ve had chemicals pregnancies but much earlier on and with lower HCG levels. This time all seemed to go so smoothly. Even my cramping and clot passing was actually on the mild side.

We have two more embryos but I’m 45 and I don’t know when I would be able to try again .

Oh I’m so sorry. Truly wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. I’m glad you have 2 more embryos that is positive. My clinic told me I have to wait to have my period and then I can start a new cycle. But the bleeding from the miscarriage doesn’t count, I’m still spotting. My RE said the first period usually comes within a month after the loss. Hoping that is the case I’m ready to jump right back in as soon as possible. From what I’ve read women are most fertile after a loss.
