Hi. I’m having a (donor) embryo transfer on Monday, and my clinic have told me to take Aspirin 75mg every day from then…

I took it on my successful FET from about a week before transfer and then daily until the late stages of pregnancy. I'd read about it helping implantation and blood flow and I'd had two early losses so I wanted to know if it could help - my consultant said it only helps if you have a blood clotting disorder, I'd been tested for this and didn't, and he said even if that had come back positive they wouldn't prescribe aspirin but proper blood thinners. But he said one 75mg tablet a day wouldn't hurt and if it made me feel like I was doing something to help, to go ahead, he just wouldn't prescribe it if you see what I mean. Having said that, I also took it on a FET more recently which was a BFN and didn't take it with the current natural pregnancy, so whilst it didn't hurt (and may even have helped that first time) it wasn't the single answer for me x

Hi there. I've had 3 failed FETs, and this time, for the 4th, I started on aspirin on day 1 of my period. I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant. I'm convinced that the aspirin played a massive role. Lots of luck to you xxx

Hi! I was told the same thing and took baby aspirin for my successful FET until 5 weeks pregnant. The reason I stopped it then is because I had a large bleed, which turned out to be a large subchorionic haematoma. Apparently these are more common for those who take baby aspirin, so it could be a double-edged sword. If I were you, I would ask the clinic when is the soonest you can stop taking it. Very best of luck!

I was told years ago that baby aspirin makes things “sticky”. When I started my IVF my Dr said if you’re taking it for TTC it isn’t needed but no harm if you want to carry on. So I did. I’ve had a bleed before transfer recently so I stopped it though
