Viability scan on Monday and terrified, symptoms come and go

Hi ladies, I guess just looking for some reassurance really. I got a positive a few weeks ago after 3 years of IVF, this was my third transfer with donor eggs.

My HCG was in the late 500’s. They said they wouldn’t test it again as it was good, the day after test day.

Since then I have had very sore boobs, tiredness, peeing at night, the very odd occasional wave of nausea and one incident of a strange craving.

The last few days my boobs don’t seem to hurt as much in the morning and the only real symptom is being tired

Is it quite common to not see a heartbeat at week 7 and not feel any sign of a miscarriage at all?

I thought getting that positive would be the be all and end all, but the terror just continues doesn’t it x

It’s natural for symptoms to come and go (my boobs were so sore towards end of 2WW then we’re normal and now starting to ache again but only at night) and the fatigue and tiredness started to set in last couple of days.

i believe from day 35 onwards (after transfer) you should get a heartbeat at the scan if all is well.

praying all is good for your scan on Monday (mines on Thursday!) eek 😬😬

Xx

Oh bless you, you’re in the same boat! I do wish you the best for Thursday. It’s reassuring to hear that someone else’s symptoms come and go as well xx

Hi both

This post is so relatable! It’s exactly how I feel right now. I’ve never been so worried about anything in my life.

My scan is 21st and no bloods offered before.

I hope you both find strength 💜

I know I could pee on a stick but I am even terrified to do that tbh for fear of what I’ll see. It really is terrifying. They really don’t tell you about the 3 week wait after the 2WW. Wishing you the strength and business to get through the next few weeks xx

I’ve just picked up more tests from the chemist 😵‍💫 but feel just like you about ACTUALLY testing.

I’m on half-term this week and I’ve never wanted a holiday to end more in my life.

Love and prayers to you 💜

It is totally normal for symptoms to come and go. Before my viability scan I felt like my nausea had disappeared and was really worried but everything was fine and my nausea actually returned the same day. It is really hard but try to take each day as it comes, you are pregnant right now so try to enjoy that. It can work out, my 3 month old son is now playing in front of me 😊

Awww your message made we well up. Congratulations on your little one, and thank you for the reassurance it has really helped. I really must try to focus on one day at a time. Xx

Hi,

On the lead up to my viability scan my symptoms would come and go. One day my boobs were sore the next day they didn’t feel sore at all. I was feeling nauseous on and off and was so anxious. The mind plays lots of tricks on you but try and keep focused and positive that your little bean is safe and progressing each day.

Try not to google as it isn’t going to change the outcome it will just make you worry even more and make you feel terrified.

You and little bean have got this xxx

You are so right, when they first told me about the viability scan I didn’t even know anything could go wrong at that, and the googling was started the fear. It doesn’t help at all. Thank you so much for your reassuring and lovely message and hope all is going well for you xxx

The support on here is really something amazing and you just don’t get it out in the real world x

definitely normal! I even had tonnes of bleeding leading up to my scan!😩 and yes symptoms came and went and most weren’t that strong at that point - most symptoms come on properly at week 8ish but even then mine were still on and off. Im now 22 weeks and realise that everything is on and off in pregnancy!

In the 500s is fantastic for a first HCG test. 7 weeks you should be able to see a heartbeat yes, we saw heartbeat at 6+3 days and a week before that we had a scan (due to bleeding) and didn’t even see an embryo!

I know how nerve wracking it all is- I have to tell you it doesn’t go away! But it does get a better and less as you go on through the pregnancy. But yeah it’s v anxiety inducing and those first 12 weeks drag!!!

Wishing you so much luck on Monday, if you see a heartbeat your chances dramatically increase for the better. Just keep picturing your baby at the end of all this 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Gosh that must have been so so nerve racking for you. Especially that scan where you didn’t even see the embryo. Bless your heart how awful that week must have been! Congratulations, and well done for getting through all of that and thank you so much for your message of reassurance. I really really appreciate it- and yes I keep telling myself I’ll be alright if all is well on Monday, but I know it won’t go away. Thank you so much, wishing you all the love and best for your pregnancy as well xx.
