I have tried researching everywhere but there is lack of information available but was wondering if anyone else has had hair laser removal before their embryo transfer? I know that you can’t get it done during pregnancy/after transfer so looking to get it done prior. E.g a week before.
Thanks 😊

we have one of the at home ones and I’ve avoided it for months as I can’t find anything to say whether it is or isn’t okay prior to transfers or egg collections and I can’t be bothered beating myself up for that being the potential reason it didn’t work! 🤣 does the laser therapy clinic have any guidance? I know the place I got Botox has some guidance for people trying to get pregnant but weren’t yet around when they should and shouldn't get Botox (basically dont when actively trying as no evidence as to what it does during pregnancy) so your hair removal clinic might have been asked this before 🤔 xx
my clinic doesn’t have any guidelines for when trying to conceive only during pregnancy as your hormones changes the hair growth! My clinic has also been fully booked for the last few weeks which doesn’t help! I hate being hairy and shaving but not sure if want to take a risk or not and the whole guilt if the transfer doesn’t work! Ahh the things we women have to put our bodies through! X
oh if the hormones mess with it I probs wouldn’t do it the week before then as you will likely be on some hormones by then or just starting (unless you are doing fully natural) could be wasting your money AND worrying! If it works you would have to go without anyways so a wee trial run 😂 honestly I hate it when I’ve got no hair dye to hide my greys, no laser or hair removal cream, no Botox for my wrinkles and can’t get my nails done for egg collection 🤣 but all worth it! I drew the line at my eyelashes though still get those lol xx
I wanted to do it because (tmi) the ingrowing hairs around C-section scar or trying to wax at all when pregnant/after section were worse than the C-section itself! But when I went to the clinic they said no if there was any possibility of me becoming pregnant - they said it wasn't really the risk to eggs/embryo (no evidence of harm, but no real research etc) but the hormone changes. I asked about getting it done once or twice when I knew I wouldn't be pregnant or gearing up for a cycle but they said need to do it regularly every 6 weeks or so. They basically said come back when we're done having children - so given the IVF timelines and success, that'll be in about 10 years...
