ERA testing

Hi lovely people , as per your recommendations I went for another egg retrieval and did pgs testing on 3 embryos out of which 2 came back normal. So the next step is transfer and my clinic is telling me to go for era in order to increase my chances. Do you think it’s worth it as last time I had a medicated cycle and it was a chemical pregnancy means I tested positive on 4dpt and on the 8dpt lines disappeared and then my beta was only 26 too. So do you think era is worth it, also had one spontaneous miscarriage back in 2020 . Also I had the same result in terms of my egg maturity 17 eggs retrieved and only 8 mature.

Any piece of advise will be appreciated

Baby dust to you all :)

Hi lovely, there was a recent meta analysis which showed ERA has no impact on pregnancy rates. However I know there's a few ladies on here who had success after changing the transfer timing after ERA. Most likely you were unlucky with the chemical - if you had a spontaneous miscarriage before maybe you could try a natural cycle instead of medicated? Xxx

thanks lovely , do you think natural cycle is going to help and I had medicated and it was awful 😢

Some people find natural works better for their bodies and their womb lining doesn't respond well to the hormones in medicated cycles. I prefer natural as it feels like it's more in tune with my body's rhythms and I always get a good lining. Might be worth discussing with your clinic xxx

hiya how are you? I swear by the era for me. I had 2 bfn then 2 chemical. They did the era test and it showed I needed an extra day of medication so transfer on day 6 instead of day 5 we did this for my 5th transfer and I am now almost 34 weeks. We did the Alice and Emma at the same time they came back clear xxx

thanks Boo , do you think even it was a chemical era might help , I also think my progesterone levels were low too as they tested after the transfer the same day and it came back 29 and they said it’s slightly low and recommended lubion injections. Don’t know this ivf thing is so cruel 😢

I honestly thought it helped me. It was like the embryo was trying it’s best to attach and it just couldn’t. Between the chemical and the positive the only change we made was moving to transfer on day 6 instead of 5 all other medication was the same.

I was on lubion 2 times a day xxx

I had an Era before my positive , the transfer date was the same but it ended up showing i had a bacteria that we treated , the transfer after lead to my positive . I also felt it was never ending cycle and just wanted to get to my transfer day but im not sure i would of gotten my positive if we transfer without rhe treatment

thanks chantysal honestly am thinking about going for it but then cz I had a chemical is making me think that it might not be an era issue as it was a chemical and not implantation issue , will discuss with the consultant to see what he recommends xx

After a failed FET I recently had an ERA and it showed that my lactobacillus was low. I’m yet to do a transfer so can’t comment on the success. Basically the thought was that if transfer 2 did not work, would I then do an ERA? So why not do it pre transfer 2 and potentially increase my chances. Good luck x

I haven't done an ERA (NHS funded, so it was not available to us even if we wanted to pay ourselves) but the clinic did give me a round of vaginal and oral probiotics before our second FET and I think they helped get a BFP. Good luck with your transfer!

No real advice Heyaaa, just letting you know I get it and I’m in the same boat! We are wondering whether to do an ERA. The evidence is shaky for it and like you, I’ve previously had implantation. I’m having a hysteroscopy and laparoscopy done next month so hoping that may shed some light on the repeated implantation failures. I think I’ll make a decision after that.

Best of luck 🤞🏼Let us know what you decide! x x

hi I am the same as Boo718 and swear the ERA made the difference to me as I also had a chemical before doing the ERA and it also showed I needed an extra day progesterone so I transferred after 6 days of protesterone rather than 5 and I’m currently 29 weeks pregnant from that transfer. When I got my results back the consultant said to me that as my window was out 24hours this is significant and without changing the protocol he was 95% certain it would not lead to a successful pregnancy. I also did the Alice and Emma at the same time and that showed my lactobacillus was low so I also treated that but despite previous chemical I’m so glad I did those tests before I had another transfer. Wish you all the luck in the world for your next transfer and great news that you have two pgs normal embroyos xxx

hey, I had 2 bfn deivf & before my last transfer I had era in Greece ( with my clinic ) it showed I needed 24 hours more progesterone, so we transferred our last embryo following the era results but still bfn 🤨

We have now moved clinics & new clinic are going to follow the era results in the hope it will help … new donor & new protocol 🙏🏽

Iv read so many ladies have had success after era so glad I did have it done

Good luck xx
