Final frozen embryo transferred today 🙏🏼

Hello,

So I had my final frozen embryo transferred today and, as I know I couldn’t go through another fresh cycle, this is probably my last shot. I had 2 failed cycles last year, the 1st was a chemical pregnancy and the 2nd was a BFP. I’m just looking for some post transfer advice, particularly with regards to what (not) to eat? I saw someone posted something about not eating chocolate and just wondering if this is harmful for implantation? Anyone else have their transfer today and now on the TWW? Xx

Hi lovely. Best advice I had before my transfer was not to change my diet dramatically but to keep eating as I had been during IVF, which was basically just plenty of fruit and veg, lots of lean protein, organic dairy and treats in moderation too. You should however act as though you’re already pregnant by avoiding anything you would in pregnancy: so soft cheeses, cured meats, sushi, alcohol, too much caffeine. I definitely ate chocolate post transfer and it didn’t seem to do me any harm; I guess just go for milk chocolate r/t v dark just because of the caffeine content in coco.

Wishing you so much luck! 🧡

Thanks so much for your reply. That all makes sense and is what I’m doing. I just couldn’t imagine completely cutting chocolate out ☺️! Xx

Exciting times! I was advised to drink lots of water so keep fluid levels up. Other than that, a healthy diet with everything in moderation. I always struggle with the 2ww so lots of things to keep you distracted is a must. Good books, box sets etc and be kind to yourself. I have everything crossed for you 🤞 🍀 xx

hello! During my 2ww I went off Coffee completely and just did green tea (still little bit of caffeine I know), took fish oil, pre natal and coenzyme 10. I ate chocolate! Lots of water and some electrolyte water. I also did meditation everyday. I did get a BFP yesterday! And still early days but fingers crossed. All the best!

I didn't really cut out anything apart from the biggies to avoid when pregnant. For me it was more about adding in good things that I also happened to like - dark chocolate is definitely one of those things btw :) But I really don't think diet affects impacts implantation. However I just transferred the one embryo we got from the sole egg retrieved on this round and I understand the pressure. Still I think it's more about not doing anything you'll regret if things don't work out even if they probably had no impact, and feeling like you have some control. Think of the number of women who get pregnant and don't realize at least for a couple or a few weeks. I drank tea until one day I couldn't stomach it (or much else really) and I tried to be guided by what my body did and didn't want at different stages. Best of luck ☘️

Thank you for your response. I haven’t been drinking tea or coffee, and just trying to eat lots fruit, veg, lean protein and, as I’m coeliac, avoiding gluten obviously 😊. I know deep down that what I’m eating isn’t really going to impact things but, like you say, if I know I’ve done everything within my control I hopefully won’t blame myself if things don’t work out the way we hope 🙏🏼. Congratulations to you on your recent BFP 🍀! Amazing news! Hope you’re keeping well xx

Good luck with your transfer! I hope it sticks. In the two week wait of my successful FET, I had a balanced diet and added walnuts - supposed to be rich in nutrients. Good luck!

Good luck 🤞🏽sounds like you’re already doing the right things re diet and all the ladies have offered you great advice. I’d definitely add that if you’re going to have chocolate go for a minimum of 70% dark chocolate as much better for you X
