They could see the yolk sac but said no fetal pole yet. How many of you have had this? Can you please check my scan I feel I can see a crown against the wall?

Try not to worry. It may be just too early. Im surprised they have scanned you this early tbh, my clinic doesn’t scan til 6w5d. Have they re booked you for a repeat scan in a week?

yeah mostly I’m seeing it’s normal to not see heartbeat before 6 weeks! Can you see the fetal pile against the wall in the first pic.

Thats mega early to see the heartbeat. Ours looked just like that at 5 weeks. Try not to worry xx

Those scans are measuring tiny millimetres. At 6w exactly mine only just measured 3mm so at 5w5, I imagine 2 days earlier you are looking at 1mm or even 0.something which would be incredibly hard to see yet. And those scans do have a margin of error of a couple of mm anyways.

My clinic told me at my 8w scan that they won’t measure because a mm or so out just causes anxiety and their equipment isn’t that sensitive.

I don’t think anyone can promise you a positive outcome but I also honestly don’t think that your scan is far enough along to show either way yet.

hopefully you have a rescan in a week which will show a lovely little heart beat xx

Yes my doctor sent to me to do a scan so that we can know how many implanted.

But it got me worried to not see a heartbeat! Gonna do a repeat and definitely see more!!

yes, my little one’s fetal pole (and indeed him!) didn’t show up at all until 6+5. The sac looked totally empty at 6+1 even…!

Thanks for replying hon! does the hcg level have any thing to do with how soon we see the heartbeat?

There’s been research done and after 5-6 weeks sonogram findings are much more predictive of preg outcomes than hcg levels I think… when is your next scan booked for? Fingers crossed you’ll see everything then, fetal pole and all! I was devastated at my 6+1 scan as they couldn’t see anything at all in the sac and were talking about blighted ovum… but then rather miraculously a few days later everything was there. He was hiding (rather too well!) X
