I really hope everyone is doing ok this time of year and your dreams come true soon. 🤞🙏💜
I'm looking for a clinic recommendation in the UK or abroad - age 43, with my own eggs. I live in Leeds and am not sure whether to change clinic as my current clinic is now a chain and prices have increased considerably.
Highest priority is decent success rate for older ladies. Ideally it also needs to be good value for money (🤑 relatively 😂). If abroad, somewhere that could double as a holiday destination would be good too.
I'm thinking about doing a multi cycle package.
I'm a bit wary of doing a 3 cycle low stim package as I respond well to high stims and I think that would be too risky, if they wouldn't increase the dose.
I've had a few rounds at the same clinic in the UK, using high dose stims getting 2-3 embryos suitable to transfer or freeze. I've also tried one round in Thessaloniki with a similar result.
Time has almost run out for me trying with my own eggs so I need to choose wisely.
Any thoughts on supplements (I'm trying 'the book'), protocols or clinic recommendations (by PM) really appreciated.
Success rates are a priority, but this is really hard to compare as the stats aren't readily available, especially at my age as they aren't reported.
Thanks so much for any recommendations.
Take care all Xx

Just wanted to wish you luck with your next round however you decide to go about it. I’ll watch your post with interest to see what advice is offered. I know that feeling if time being precious. I’ve just turned 44 and am doing stims for my 3rd round right now for an egg retrieval early Jan. Feels weighty starting again from scratch but I’m keeping everything crossed we get good embys to transfer. We’re using a chain clinic and went for a 2 cycle package again( this is our final window 🤞). Supplement wise, I doubt I have anything new to offer… I’m taking naturello pregnancy multivitamin as suggested in ‘It starts with the egg’ as it’s folate rather than folic acid. Also taking co Q-10. Hubby taking a multi vit, omega 3, co-q-10 aswell and vit c. Best of luck 🍀 and happy holidays x
So at 42 I’ve just had success after my third round with a clinic in Cyprus. I would fully recommend but obviously I’m biased because it worked! Cost less than half price of the treatment in the uk - and I work for BA so can try help you out with cheaper air fare (if I can, sometimes the tix aren’t so cheap but sometimes we can get a bargain!!)
as far as supplements go I was taking
L’arginine
Astaxanthin oil
Myo inositol complex
Dhea
Coq 10
Melatonin
Obviously it may have been total coincidence but I only started taking the first 3 of these a couple of months before my last successful round.. the way I saw it was they’re not going to do any harm anyway.
Good luck with everything- if you want any more info just pm me x
Hi Orangeflowers, So clinic wise I'm not much help as I'm in Ireland but I did have a consult with a London clinic and I was very impressed with them and how thorough they were in asking about previous attempts, lifestyle and supplementation. They have very good stats for older ladies but are pricey. In the end I went with my original clinic and had the best round at 44 that I've had in 6 full IVF cycles. While I was always on several supplements, this round I added in DHEA, melatonin and inositol and upped the coQ. It was the London clinic who suggested the inositol and it surprised me as I don't have PCOS but they said they suggested it because I have high AMH for my age. You mentioned you responded well to high stims so it might be the case for you too. Since I have been talking to several women who thought inositol was what made the difference for them too. I haven't transferred anything yet so I can't categorically say it has worked but it produced the best quality embryos I've had to date.
Thank you so much for this. I'll look into inositol and will consider the DHEA and melatonin too. That's excellent that you've had your best round. Good luck. I hope this goes well for you xx
Thanks, I went for a freeze all because I had to get them PGT-M tested for a specific gene I carry. Numbers wise I didn't get any more than before but more made blast, previously I've only had 1 reach blast a couple of times, morula stage also but it didn't progress. This time 8 eggs, 7 mature, 5 fertilized normally and 4 made blast, 3 suitable for biopsy. All 3 came back without my dodgy gene.
Hi! I am currently on my 2WW after having my transfer 21/12/22! After a failed round with my own egg I took the advice of the consultant and we’ve now gone down the donor egg route. After a bad experience here in the UK we found Reprofit in Czech Republic. They are amazing, I’m totally at ease with them. Feel free to contact me xx
