second scan and follicles aren’t measuring at what they hope

I had my second scan today (10 days of stim) and they said the follicles aren’t measuring the size they hoped (most are around 10mm or less only 1 at 12mm). Is it even possible for them to reach 15mm or higher in two days? They said based on scan it’s 50:50 between going ahead with egg retrieval or cancelling!

Also any suggestions on what I can do or eat to get them to grow more?

(First time doing IVF so this is all so new to me)

I’m so sorry for the feedback you received. I don’t have much to contribute since I’m also new to the process.

I was on stimulants for 6days and today I had a scan. Dr could pick up 4 eggs and really took time to measure all of them the smallest was 14 and the biggest was 24. Not sure if this is what you are asking but I have no doubt the lovely people here will give you more information.

it’s just so much to learn isn’t it! I have 26 follicles but the size isn’t what they wanted for most! So was just wondering if anyone knows can they grow rapidly in 2 days… for now I’m thinking best to think it won’t go ahead than to get upset if egg collection gets cancelled!

to a certain extent I think they work coz my doctor said I must continue with injections for 1 more day after seeing only 4 eggs today from my right ovary which had a cyst a month ago and I was on meds for 6 days

Eat copious amounts of protein is my best advice, hot water bottle on stomach (never after transfer though, only during stims) and walks to get blood flowing

I would add to this, try and get a good amount of protein during stims. Not sure how quickly it works but also helps with the eggs developing in the follicles. Good luck! X
