Is anyone out there embryo banking? How is this going for you?
I’m about to turn 37 and I would like to have any further cycles completed within a year. Previously I’ve only done long protocol and produced: 8 eggs, 5 blasts (4 did not meet nhs freezing criteria); 4 eggs, 3 blasts, 2 frozen (one son but passed away late in pregnancy); 7 eggs 2 blasts, 1 frozen)
I have one of my own egg embryos frozen with donor sperm and am considering a 3 cycle embryo freezing package with a fairly well known fertility clinic with several branches throughout the UK.. particularly aimed at women in my age bracket.
I think the live birth rate per embryo is around 25% at age 37?

Hi LadyM. Embryo banking might be a good idea, as they never age, and you can then transfer them when you are ready to do a transfer. Hoping some ladies with experience will jump on and give you their thoughts. Good luck! Diane
Hi Lady M, after 1 unsuccessful cycle at 42 years of age, I was advised to do a 3 cycle package of embryo banking due to my age.
The plan was to freeze day 5 embryos until the third cycle where my consultant agreed to let us go ahead with a fresh transfer. I was successful during that 3rd round at almost 44 years of age and I still have 3 embryos on ice. The number of eggs collected increased with each cycle but I did see a huge drop off because of quality. Nevertheless for me, embryo banking was definitely the way to go.
Really sorry to hear about your son.
All the best with your decision and wishing you every success with your next cycle x
sorry I can't answer your question however we are looking to do this after 4 failed cycles of traditional IVF, perhaps with a wildcard IUI in the middle to 'use up' the donor sperm we have as also want to try a new donor with embryo banking
