Freaking out.

hello everyone! 🙏💗

I have been waiting to proceed with ivf donor eggs for a while now and now that the time is nearly here, I’m freaking out!

I will be 45 when transfer takes place.

I’ve been reading all about what can go wrong for older mothers…… lots….. then yesterday I found a website stating how donor egg ivf even heightens the risks further!!!

Some things that can happen during pregnancy in older mothers I can’t even spell but they don’t sound good.

I wonder if anyone can help me out here?

Am I over reacting? I’m pretty healthy nothing but post DVT 11 years ago not genetic but circumstantial, but from what I’ve read you can be fit as a fiddle and get these problems.

if I become sick from it all I’m not going to make the best mother. 😩☹️☹️☹️

Thanks all 🙏🙏💗💗🙏🙏

Hey. Try not to panic. I am 45 and currently pregnant with DE I will be 46 if I am lucky enough to give birth (can’t quite get excited yet as don’t want to tempt fate).

Firstly my midwife told me last week that I am not seen as old anymore and it’s becoming more and more normal

Secondly you will likely get more monitoring to keep you safe

Thirdly if you Google you will find bad news about everything! Yes there are risks but everyone I have spoken to have been really quite dismissive about them because they know about them up front so can do all they can to prevent eg pre-eclampsia

Have you googled all the mature DE mothers who don’t have problems?

I guess no one can guarantee you won’t have any issue but there are thousands every year that don’t. It’s up to you to decide how desperately you want a family and whether it’s a risk worth taking or not x

hi Daisy Congratulations 🎉 so happy for you!! thanks for the reply. I noticed we had a chat 10 months ago and it seems like it has been a long road for you so I’m wishing all the best and more with your pregnancy.

It’s very true that I haven’t google older woman that don’t have problems.

It’s comforting that your midwife said its becoming more and more normal. I went to the reproductive clinic here in Channel Islands and the top man there ( not sure what his position is called 🤣) said he has woman in there older than me having babies and ones with more problems. He then told me a woman who had one kidney who had a fine pregnancy then another with heart problems had fine pregnancy. Thing is I couldn’t help think those people were bit crazy to undergo pregnancy with those type of issues but as you stated at end of message it all depends how desperately you want a family, and I do really want a family.

I was told I’d be closely monitored so I guess they would do there best. Thanks again 🎉🎉💗💗🙏🙏xxx

hi again Daisy , when I used the word crazy in my last message regarding woman had had seen pregnancy through with health issues, I think that was wrong word to use. I will rephrase that by saying that I think they are very brave.

Bye for now 💗🙏

Hi Emmslou. I think you need to concentrate on what can go right for you! You will be using younger eggs, which is great, as they give you a better chance of success. Hope all goes well and that you get the pregnancy you so deserve. Diane
