Embryo development - any advice?

Sorry ladies - so many questions from me this week!

I got the dreaded Day 5 call and had a few questions:

1) Any hope for morulas on day 5 turning to blasts on day 6?

2) Any hope for 11 cell embryos on day 3? Isn’t 8 the magic number for day 3?

3) One embryo has vacuoles on day 3 - any success stories of this?

As always, thank you ❤️

I can’t help you with the latter questions but I’ve had morulas on day 5 turn into blasts on day 6 x

The answer for question 1 is yes and they can be viable embryos. My 9 months old twins are day 6 😁😘. Question 2, 8 cells have a higher change for a life birth but is not necessary a rule. Also the more cells in day 3 the stronger the embryo, so it is controversial a bit. I would say that what is more important in day 3 is actually the level of fragmentation along with the cells number.

Question 3, haven't got an experience myself but this can be a sign of compromised egg quality. Although embryos have been known to progress well and make a pregnancy despite the initial appearance of a problem.

Good luck 🤞😃

Hi! We had two day 5 morulas turn into good grade embryos on day 6, all fingers crossed for yours!

Thanks so much everyone - sadly, all the morulas didn’t make it. Neither did the 11 cell on Day 3.

Sat here with OHSS and a considerable hole in my credit card wondering why I bothered 😭😂 x

Hi Seren. Oh dear! So sorry to hear akk this. All I can so is to ask you to speak to your embryologust for his/her comments. Look afteryourself for now and continue to drink plenty of water. Once you are recovered you can discuss what to do from here, and let's hope another round is successful. Diane

Hi. Oh you poor poppet! Not what you want, but the drip should sort you out. Not often it ends up like this, but you must have drawn the short straw this time. Hurry up and get better. Sending you gentle hugs, Diane xx
