Hi, hope everyone is having a chilled Sunday. I got the call from the hospital to tell me to trigger tonight at 22:50 and then come to the hospital on Tuesday for 8:15! Feeling very nervous! I’ve taken my last shot of stimms tonight and just waiting to take the trigger. Does anyone else feel really nervous about this part? It seems like a really important step!
I think we’re going to do a test run to the hospital tomorrow so we know where we’re going on Tuesday morning as we’ve never been before. If anyone has any advice for the egg collection it would be much appreciated 🙌🏻
Also, the doctor has already told me what day our pregnant test will be, is this normal?? We haven’t even had the egg collection yet! Thank you x

all the best lovely! every new step in the process is nerve wracking! Our clinic told us test day at the transfer, doesnt matter they told you already. all the best xxx
Thank you! I’ve been a bag of nerves from the beginning! Just want to do everything right. That’s good, it took me by surprise when my doctor told me which date we’d be testing but at least it gives me time to prepare! I think I’ll want to stay in the bubble of the tww so I can hold on to the hope 🤞🏻
Good luck!I always found the trigger the most stressful too.
On our 4th one it was scheduled for midnight and I was so nervous I didnt put the needle on the syringe properly and it popped off as i was injecting and squirted on the bed 😱😱😱
I got about 70% of the shot and was so upset that I’d messed it all up. I called the nurse the next morning and she said it would probably be ok but we wouldn’t know until I was sedated in the egg collection 😫
Sooooo stressful!! Thankfully it was ok and the EC went well.
Hope your trigger was fine and good luck for tomorrow xx
Oh my gosh that sounds so stressful! Thankfully mine was ready to go out of the packet (Ovitrelle) so I didn’t have to do much. I had to do mine at 22:50 and we’ve just moved house so I was so tired and fighting to stay awake until then so I could do it. Thankfully it went okay. I’m going to do a test run to the hospital ready for egg collection tomorrow so it hopefully all goes smoothly 🤞🏻😂 xx
Taking the trigger was definitely the most stressful part for me! I'm a medical professional and still had my husband read the instructions with me as I did it. As for the EC itself, my best advice is to try and just stay calm. Both of mine I did not feel a thing, totally sparko, and actually just enjoyed the sleep and letting someone else take control for a bit! I was bricking it the first time but the second time was a breeze as I knew what was coming. I was totally pain free for several hours afterwards but then the fentanyl wore off and I was more uncomfy in the afternoon, so just be prepared for that. Also, my clinic ran late both times and I was losing my marbles thinking I would have ovulated early. The consultant told me they have up to about 37 hours after trigger before they start to think about that, so by my calculation you will have plenty of buffer time.
Clinics usually have a set day after EC they do the pregnancy test - mine is 16 days, so 11dp5dt or 13dp3dt. You would usually test from about 14 days after ovulation for a natural pregnancy (ie the day of your missed period) so it makes sense once they know when EC is they know when your PT will be. Best of luck, hope all goes well! xx
Ohhh how exciting! We’ve always found the trigger shot to be the most stressful! Enjoy the meds tomorrow and please let us know how you get on! Keeping everything crossed for you x
