Forging ahead with my last IVF—Luteal phase advice?

Well, I don't feel as sick as I did a few days ago when I felt like I wanted to die. I still feel pretty bad, but oh well.

This is a luteal phase stimulation, which I have never done before. I'm on 450 of menopur. Day 7 now. At the doctor yesterday there were 9 follicles but some were small.

I really have no idea what to expect from a luteal phase stimulation!

I hope it all goes well for you. I have collection tomorrow with 6 good sized follicles. This is our last shot with own eggs. My advice is that if you aren’t happy with how you’re responding to the drugs by day 9-10 then cancel it. Unless you have no issue with cost.

Just to check what do you mean by luteal phase stimulation? I thought you were meaning follicular phase but wanted to check. Best of luck xx

It means we started in the luteal phase of my cycle, right after ovulation, instead of at the start of the cycle when you get your period. I guess it's often done when there is an emergency like before a cancer surgery, when there isn't time to wait for the usual cycle day. It just means I won't be able to do a fresh transfer, which I don't want to do anyway.

Oh I see. I hope it goes well for you.

I had collection yesterday with 5 eggs but later found out they were all immature. I think we’re going to move on with a donor cycle soon instead.

I wish you all the 🍀

I'm so sorry to hear about your eggs. It's such a rough process. I will most likely be going to DE soon myself xo

It’s so difficult to know what to do as it’s such a game of roulette. I’m sure you’ll have better luck than me. Either way we just want to be parents so DE will hopefully work out x

Good luck! So glad you are carrying on despite everything xx
