Hi all, I have a really short luteal phase and have tried everything. Has anyone had any luck with progesterone cream, clomid etc?? Words of wisdom would be welcome!!!!

They said I had luetal phase defect at 9 days long. It's never changed and I've just had my 3rd child. Xx

First two boys drop of a hat, third boy, almost 6 years!! Did put it down to luetal phase at one point, but was tracking so I knew how long my phase was. How long is yours?xx

My friend had a short phase of around ten days but she's been taking Vitex and now she has a 12 day luteal phase x

As just mentioned try Angus cactus (vitex) for some reason the conventional dosctors don't seem to care about charts and lute all phase defects. It's a mine field trying to help yourself. This vitamin is in expensive and def worth a try. Good luck x

Well omg guys!!!! After years of trying and dealing with luteal phase defect my doctor (after much pushing) put me on crinone progesterone gel. I can barely believe it, but month one I am pregnant!!!!!! An absolute wonder drug, which on the packet says corrects luteal phase defect and forces you to have a proper length luteal. Honestly everything else I tried for years was pointless. Done about 20 tests coz I'm in utter disbelief.

Can I ask....a short leutal phase...I'd thst when you ovulate late? Just wondering what your ovulation day is ancient length of cycle? I generally ovulate day 19 of 28 day cycle.

Hi. That is exactly what I had. Ovulated on day 20 ish and then a 28 days cycle. NHS and UK don't really recognise luteal phase defect so everytime I mentioned it they just bypassed it. I pushed to get urine sampling done weekly and then when it showed low progesterone they put me on clomid to try and help ( not really the point in clomid) although it did raise progesterone levels a bit my luteal was still under 12 days. Crinone has completely fixed me!
