17dp5dt - still faint with FRER (boots)

Hi all, I posted a few days ago at 14dp5dt panicking because my BFPs were continuously faint. You all gave some great advice, including use the same tests and get early response tests.

I got some boots-own early response tests and did one today at 17dp5dt. It was still positive, but also still faint ☹️ Does this mean it’s not going to work?? I would have really hoped it would be darker by now ☹️☹️

Thanks!

Hi! That you still have a positive test five days after the first test makes it very unlikely that it's just a so called chemical pregnancy, as the hcg levels with a chemical usually are so low that the line disappears soon after the first positive. I'm optimistic on your behalf ❤ Keep us posted ❤

Can you not go and have your hcg levels done. It looks a good positive to me. Congrats xx

I’ve managed to get my GP to give me the blood tests so fingers crossed it’s more conclusive!

Thanks so much everyone! I just got the results for Monday - it’s 94. So it’s not incredibly high for 4 weeks 5 days but not the lowest either. Have the second test on Thursday so fingers crossed for Friday 😬 xx

Updating as I know it’s useful when you’re on here looking for answers. Found out my hcg dropped this morning so a MC is on the cards. Thanks for your support it meant a lot. And for the bloods advice - I’d likely have carried on a lot longer if I hadn’t pushed for those x

Ohh hunny! I'm so sorry. I know how it feels. I had a chemical back in December a week before Christmas. It's very sad. You think that the struggle ends when you see that BFP but it doesn't. My heart goes out to you!
