Hi can anyone help. I think I may have had a chemical pregnancy.
So I took a test two days ago and had a faint line I then took a digital it said 1-2 . I am breastfeeding my 1 year old at night. I went to the toilet to take a cheap test and there was a faint line but when wiped I had fresh blood spotting.. Could breastfeeding be the reason it didn't carry through? Has anyone been breastfeeding and conceived but then had chemical?

You might want to try the NCT thread if not getting an answer on here? Since this group is for people with infertility many of us might not know about how breastfeeding could affect a pregnancy etc.
Hey there, I’m not sure breastfeeding would be a reason. There are so many more that could cause a chemical pregnancy sadly. If you only got a tiny bit of spotting everything could be okay if not followed by more of a bleed but one thing you could do is get yourself down to the epu for a scan. They might be able to work out what’s going on.
Hi Shaze,When you breastfeed, your body releases prolactin, which is a hormone that in theory prevents ovulation, but it doesn't work 100% of times. But if you do ovulate, I don't see why this would cause a miscarriage. Chemicals are quite common, I had at least 3.
Also, indeed this is the forum for people who are struggling to conceive, you may find better answers in the NCT forum.
