Intimacy during Ivf cycle?

I’m sorry it’s me again!

Question is pretty obvious but not something I have had a chance to ask yet for various reasons.

Are we still allowed to BD during a cycle or is this dependent on the clinic?

Thank you in advance

Kelly

In my case I was not allowed to BD during the 2ww, we had the last one a day before the transfer.

Hi,

Thank you so much for replying.

We used protection so should be all good.

Going to confirm with the clinic at my next appointment on Monday.

Thank you xx

We were told to use protection to prevent risk of pregnancy or infection up to transfer but post transfer to avoid during the 2ww x

Hi Daisy,

Thank you taking the time to reply.

We were good 😉 so hopefully will be fine lol

Think i read somewhere to avoid during 2ww so was planning to do that anyway.

Just felt guilty for saying no 😉🙈

Xx

Don't feel guilty!! You will have a precious embryo on board!! He can wait a few weeks, especially after all you have been through!! Masses of luck xx

I think I may be too scared to do it in those 2 weeks 😂🙈 and hopefully it will all be worth it!

Thank you so much xxx

😂😂 maybe it’s me but I just couldn’t be arsed in the 2ww. There’s been enough scanners and medical equipment up there 😂😂 xxx

Everytime I go into a scan I’m like right I’m going to get undressed now they always laugh 😂 xxx

We were told fine during tww, particularly as those who fall pregnant naturally would still carry on as they wouldn't know anything was going on. We did get it on in tww and I'm 40 wks pregnant on Monday so certainly did us no harm.

Besides, it's good to keep your stress levels down and it was good to get it on for once without it being ttc!

Hi,

This is a great thought that I hadn’t had! We wouldn’t know if it was a natural! Definitely planning to talk to the clinic next week x

I'm so old - what does BD stand for? For what it's worth, my Dr says yes, but use protection. But with ovaries feeling like the size of a bunch of grapes I didn't want anything coming near that region!!

Hi

I doubt you’re that old 😉 there are so many short hands some of them even I don’t know all of them BD is baby dancing or just plain old sex lol 😂 🤣🤣

I think at the moment it’s still early stages for us so ovaries are not so big yet but time will tell. We used protection but am going to speak to the clinic x
