Thank you ☺️Enjoy the McDonald's fries.

Don't forget Brazil, pomegranate juice and pineapple core x

in reply to Summertime12

Thanks, I can do all but the pineapple as I have PCOS so need to avoid! Wishing you lots of luck x

Hey sorry … really stupid question but why do you need to avoid pineapple if you have PCOS? I also have PCOS and currently in my 2WW

in reply to 786x

My clinic told me to avoid it as it can irritate the PCOS and make your sugar levels higher so to avoid due to pregnancy diabetes xxx

I had them on the way home, so about an hour later!! 🍟🍟 Both times resulted in a BFP, I have a 2 year old and am now 11 weeks pregnant 🤰🏼 👍🏻

Good luck to you xx

Awww thank you. Congratulations :)

Any tips? My transfer is tomorrow x

My only advice would be to relax and do what you would normally do (within reason 🤪) try and keep your mind busy!! I did mindfulness sessions in the evening, there is an app called Mindful IVF, which helped me chill out! X

I had them about two hours after transfer on route home… they were yummy! Added some chicken selects in there too ☺️ Xx

Yes, I just got my BFP. Just rest up as much as possible and keep your mind calm through the TWW. Read, take walks, be gentle with yourself and act as if you’re already pregnant 💗 xx

I got told to keep my feet nice and warm, I've always got fluffy socks on. Eat healthy balanced diet (I've been avoiding any takeaways or unhealthy foods), focusing on eating healthy fats, lots of fruit and vegetables etc. I've also been eating around 3/4 Brazil nuts daily and drinking pomegranate juice, drinking lots of water, avoiding caffeine etc.Just relax and trust your body 🥰x

Keep your feet warm (warm feet, warm uterus) and eat lots of warm nutritious food. Avacado, eggs, salmon, kale, spinach, kafir etc., all good examples. Avoid any foods that may irritate your tummy so takeouts for me was something I knew I shouldn’t eat. My clinic suggested high protein diet too, and lots of water at room temperature to stay hydrated. I didn’t actually eat Brazil nuts this time, but I had pom juice every few days. Keep taking your folic acids supplements too. Xx

I love this! Do we know why they might help? Im so intrigued :) x

There is absolutely zero evidence they do anything 😂 but, if you want an excuse to eat Maccy D’s fries then it seems as good as any! Xx

Lol I love Mcds fries so that's my excuse for eating them

The only possible rationale I’ve heard is that sometimes if you have mild over-stimulation and your body is retaining fluids, eating salty snacks can help…? 🤷🏼‍♀️ But I’m not sure if that has anything to do with implantation 🙃 x

I had them after 3 transfers, those transfers unfortunately failed but obviously that was nothing to do with the fries 😂I had a transfer 2 weeks ago and I didn't have fries. I read online that women have them after egg retrieval as the salt in the fries can help prevent Ohss. I think it's a superstition with embryo transfer but I don't think it would cause any harm eating them. If you enjoy them then go for it 😋

Haha I love this! It’s an urban myth but who knows if it helps. They are delicious 😋 xx

Who knew?? I love McDonald’s and all this time I’ve been so close to the answer? Haha

There's a Mc Ds close enough to our clinic so we pulled in on way home! Even the embryologist and nurses said make sure you get your salty chips lol! I'm currently 23 weeks preg 🙏🏼. It's light hearted fun but who knows maybe it did work! Best of luck x

Summertime12 profile image
Summertime12 in reply to

Did you just order the chips? Worried about eating anything else as trying to keep gluten to a minimum

in reply to Summertime12

Yes! Large chips with salt x

I had them on my way home xI’m currently holding my 8 weeks old :)

I also had acupuncture, pineapple and Brazil nuts x ( not sure if that’s what made it work , but it was my 3rd transfer (only successful one ) and first time trying all of this )

Good luck x

Wishing you the best of luck, although know that eating or not Mc Donalds fries won’t help you get pregnant 😂 …I wish it was so easy 😂(actually junk food is not good for you, like ever…let alone when trying to get pregnant!) xx

Summertime12 profile image
Summertime12

True but I thought I'd try something different this time ☺️

Unfortunately there was no McDs near me, so I opted for big chunky chips from the chippy, topped with loads of salt and vinegar. That was really the only unhealthy food I ate during the TWW. I prepared a lot of homemade dishes before embryo transfer, such as homemade sweet and sour pork with pineapples and froze them ready to eat on demand, must have worked as I am now 15 weeks pregnant with twins 😀.Wish you all the best with your transfer, sending baby dust your way. Xx

My transfer was at 8am and McDonalds didnt serve fries in the morning so I went back for lunch :) I think it doesnt matter because the little embryo is just floating around in there anyway

Congratulations...fingers crossed you get your BFP xxx

AJJ123 profile image

Whenever you want hun, it doesn’t make any difference.

I got a bfp after having them straight after, although it was a chemical.

Pregnancy (or getting pregnant) in general has very little to do with diet, there are usually other factors at play that cause infertility preventing implantation.

Xx you want Golden Arches - go for it! If you get pregnant though, then obviously you want to eat healthy for the baby

Summertime12 profile image
Summertime12 in reply to AJJ123

Thank you.Sorry to hear you had a chemical :(

That’s ok, it’s a gamble each time but I’m glad I got that far.

Good luck, I’m starting my first IVF cycle this week! Xx

Lol something to do with the salt. I thought after all these years of failed IVF I'm going to give it a go. Let's see if this cycle works xx
