downreg in a medicated FET

hi ladies πŸ‘‹ we have been lucky enough to get 1 euploid embryo (out of 2 sent for testing). For the transfer they have said we could do natural vs medicated. The natural is completely hands off so even though it will take longer I think the medicated will be more reassuring. My question is how many of you started downreg on D21 of your cycle for a medicated FET? I see a lot of people start it on D1 but my clinic say D21 and I'm just wondering why the wait... if the transfer fails then I have a small window of opportunity to get an NHS cycle before I turn 40 in oct so even a few weeks could matter.....

thanks as always for the support! 🧑

hey thanks for replying, did they say why you start on day 21? how is it going? do you have an idea of when you might transfer? 🧑🀞

I was on 0.5 buserlin from day 21 for 18 days. I had a period during this time. Then from day 19 I have been on progynova 6mg for a week, now I’m on 8mg. It goes up to 10mg next week. I have a lining scan next Wednesday with transfer due the following Thursday.

thanks and good luck, I peeked at your profile and I just wanted to say that I'm sorry about your mum being unwell, I lost my Dad to lymphoma 2 years ago and my Mum has had breast cancer twice, cancer is an absolute shit show, I hope you get some good news soon and if you ever want to vent to someone, even a stranger like me please feel free to DM me, take care 🧑

Personally I woukdnt do down regulation, it made me feel like crap. They are essentially putting you in a fake menopause and have complete control of your cycle and then build your lining with meds and plan progesterone start and transfer when its appropriate. I missed this and found it quicker and less harsh on the body so I started on meds to help build my lining then when thick enough, started progesterone and had transfer. Good luck.xx

Hi, i did one down reg FET with a day 21 injection, and one without. Both ended up with positive pregnancies. So it shouldn't really make a difference.

Hi Cinderella and Snow! thanks for sharing your info πŸ‘ I managed to get a phone call with the consultant this week and he has guided me towards a medicated cycle and I feel good about it, and my period even turned up today so hopefully I can get a slot 🀞 thanks again 🧑
