The tests results should show three scores - the average, low and high Comet scores. Do want to upload a pic of your results (don't include any of the personal info) so we can help?
Thanks so much for your response I don’t have a physical copy of the results as they were relayed over the phone but there was no mention of average. I wrote down these -
low commet was 48%
high commet - 16%
Both of which are in anormal range so presuming pretty bad 😢
Ah, I see. Unfortunately, there's no way to work out the average based on the numbers they've given you. But you're right that they're outside of the normal range.
However, don't lose hope! The next steps after this are to start on a supplement (my husband's doc recommended Impryl for 3-6 months) and possibly get some further testing to see if a varicocele or infections are contributing to the problem. Hopefully your current doctor can guide you through this, but if not I would recommend self-referring to a urologist (loads of people on here rave about Dr Ramsay in London) to take foward next steps. Best of luck! xx
Thank you :)He’s actually been on impryl for a year so I don’t think it’s doing much sadly. But I’ve heard of Dr Ramsey so I think he will have to be the next step.
No problem, lovely. I felt really defeated after my husband's test came back (his low Comet score was only 20%, so quite a bit worse than your husband's) but we've since found some infections that we've been able to treat. I promise it's not actually as bad as it seems right now and I have full confidence that Dr Ramsay will be able to lay out a game plan for you xx
