Can I ask why people say it’s a great sign getting a BFP so early after transfer. (Without hcg trigger) I can’t find anything that would back this up, Relating to miscarriage, other risks, percentage of pregnancies continued etc....
obviously looking for line progression is a good indicator too, but what is the difference between a bfp at day 6/7/8pt compared to a bfp day 12-14pt

Hi, we tested from day 5. Didn’t get any positive or negative signs. When it got to day 8, I requested bloods to make sure as I thought could it be a chemical. I became paranoid about the line progression. Bloods confirmed it was viable and then we were very cautious in guarding our hearts until the 7 week scan. I’m still very much guarding my heart. I’m almost 17 weeks and still find it quite hard to believe it is happening. Having the bloods eased my anxiety to a degree, it stopped me from
I think it's because a strong positive test indicates high levels of HCG. Research has shown that embryos that produce high levels of HCG are more likely to result in a viable pregnancy. Although a beta HCG test (or two) would be much more reliable than a home test for measuring this.
An early BFP means a good strong hcg level - there have been studies which has shown the pregnancies which have the best chance of being viable had a hcg of 100+ On 9dp5dt or 14DPO and this has been true for me
Later implantation is associated with higher risk of early pregnancy loss. In theory, the earlier HCG is detected, the earlier the blastocyst implanted but in reality it doesn't quite work like that unless using a hyper-sensitive blood-based assay. If you are using a urine test you have to factor in your own kidney function, urine output (affected by stress!), test timing etc etc.
I don’t understand most of that sorry. 😬 I tested 6dp5dt FET (no hcg trigger) got a positive and its continued to get darker each FMU. People have said that’s a good sign a strong line so early. Just wasn’t sure what they ment by that, and how it would effect it going forward.
Kidney function/stress how can that effect it please? X
When you detect HCG in your urine, it is measuring a concentration ie amount of HCG per millilitre of urine. So if you have very dilute urine the test will have more trouble picking up the HCG than if your urine is very concentrated. This is why you are told to do the test first thing in the morning as your urine tends to be more concentrated (you haven't usually had much to drink for about 8 hours). If your kidneys don't work quite as well as someone else's, your average urine concentration will be different (usually more dilute). If you get stressed, you produce a hormone (cortisol) that makes your urine more dilute. If you test later in the day your urine will also be more dilute. So a urine test has more factors affecting the result than a blood test, as blood concentration is very tightly controlled. From what you describe, you have a consistent positive test that was detected quite early so your blastocyst probably had an early implantation, which means it is statistically more likely to be viable. xx
I’ve had two BFPs from IVF cycles. Both at 5dp5dt and one was an early mc, the other was successful and gave me my daughter. I honestly don’t think the test can tell you anything other than you’re pregnant unfortunately but that in itself is amazing so enjoy this moment xxx
If your clinic won’t do bloods, some GPS do. Mine was very good before my transfer in checking all my levels etc instead of paying and driving to my clinic xx
