Wife had blood work on Friday 9dp5dt and her hcg level was 67.1. Clinic said it was lower than what they like to see so asked she repeat test today 12dp5dt. Just got results and it’s 125. Nurse said it’s increasing but a bit slower than it should and wants to repeat test on Wednesday. We don’t know what to think. Any experience with similar situation?

HCG Slowly increasing - Please share
Hi there, just to give you some reassurance - my beta hcg was 28 at 8DP5DT. And I am now 18+3 with baby measuring ahead.
My doctor said anything above 25 after 9DP5DT is considered pregnant and baseline hcg value does not matter at all as long as it doubles in 48-72 hours (in some cases even an increase as much as 50% in that timeframe goes on to be a viable pregnancy). He never expressed any concern at all.
I’ve come to notice on here that clinics in the UK have a certain threshold of hcg value they expect to see at a certain time or they express concern that it’s not as high as they would like, that practice is very unfamiliar here where I live.
All that matters is that the hcg has doubled or come close to doubling as it has in your wife’s case.
Hoping they keep doubling, all the very best to you both !
My calculation is a doubling in 80 hours. That’s slower than everything I’ve seen online of where it’s supposed to be. We are very scared this isn’t going to proceed.
I understand your concern. There have been studies that show an increase of above 50% as opposed to 100% in that timeframe can go on to be viable,I would be cautiously optimistic unless beta numbers drop. Sometimes they are slow starters and pick up eventually, fingers crossed that is the case for you both.
