Hi there, I started a short protocol but had to abandon it as my body didnt respond as well as dr would hoped. Basically the plan was to take injections for around 10 days however in my case at day 8 I only had 6 -7 eggs growing on a proper rate. To compare at long protocol i had 17 eggs. Best of luck.

I failed to down regulate on the long protocol so was switched to the short protocol. Injections for 10-12 days but still ended up hyperstimulated and had 33 eggs collected. Was admitted to hospital for 10 days. I dread to think what would have happened on the long protocol as the short protocol is meant to reduce the risks. I’ll never have a fresh cycle again (partly because they wouldn’t risk it, I wouldn’t risk it and partly because I have 13 embryos left still and if I use all of them and still get nowhere I’d say I’m pretty screwed!) but I guess my circumstances were rare and specific. Are you about to start a short protocol? Everyone is different and no two peoples experience of a particular protocol is the same so I’m not sure how useful other people’s experiences will be to you.x
