Hi all, we have our consent appointment with the nurse tomorrow, sounds like we'll be going through the protocol too. Is there anything you would suggest to an ivf newbie to ask in this appointment or is it just a formality? Our cycle won't be until March so seems forever away just now. Is it likely that we'd have another appointment to go over things before starting the cycle or is this it? thanks for any advice 🧡

I guess it is with NHS , probably you are going for information session. The nurse will show you how to inject, where and when to do that. Usually they are going through your protocol when you need to collect the medication which now will be a bit too early. Problem it is that if you have your cycle booked for March they might ask you to book again another appointment closer to the time, I had the same situation and it was so frustrating 🙄 I wish you good luck 🤞♥️🤗
Hi Ranchu thanks very much for responding, it is a phone appointment so will be interesting to see if she goes over injections We are going private at an NHS clinic, they said they'd include the protocol in the paperwork they sent for us to go over tonight but must have missed it out. I am so keen to know the plan and would have loved to have had time to go over it before the meeting....oh well I guess the upside of waiting till March is having time to go over it then.... hope you are well 🧡
From my experience I can tell you even if you would have seen the plan and your protocol you wouldn’t have understood much 🤣😤 in regards of how to inject yourself probably they will give you link to websites so you could watch. We also decided to have a private NHS treatment but I regret doing that 🤯😤😡
Hey Ranchu it sounds like you didn't have a good experience with your clinic? We were torn between 2 clinics but the nhs one offers pgt-a and I want to do that due to my age.... guess time will tell! 🧡
Hello lovely. I had my consent appointment 2 weeks ago. I am NHS funded so not sure if any different. We are a same sex couple so we had to consent to sperm donation etc. There were lots and lots of forms to sign lol. They sent us all the forms to read before hand and we have been sent information videos on protocols and a video from the embryologist. We were sent a little schedule of our treatment before this appointment also. We got to meet the scientists too and had a chance to ask any questions. I didnt ask very much as I remember feeling overwhelmed either all the paper work. I start my first injection on the 31st Dec and it was originally planned for the 4th jan but my cycle was a bit different than planned so they adjusted that appointment at my consent appointment. Good luck on your journey, id advise if you think of any questions write them down and take in with you, its easy to forget once you're at the appointment xxx
