The closest thing to crazy 7dp5dt

Hi Everyone

This is my first post but I’m a serial lurker. Posting at 4am in the middle of another sleepless night.

This is my 2nd ivf and I’m 7dp5dt. My first IVF was a BFN and I started to cramp 6dp5dt & bleed at 8dp5dt - so you can see why anxiety is high 😬 This time we have an excellent hatching embryo (last time was 2BB). We only got 1 blast from each cycle. No Frosties.

This 2ww has been awful!! Worse than the first. I had 3 days of sore nipples, slight tugging etc (saw as positive as never had previous with progesterone) but then ...

⭐️ 3dp5dt - woken in night with severe cramps. Like my uterus was trying to escape itself

⭐️ 4dp5dt - woken in night again with pulsing cramps, like my uterus had its own heart beat / contractions. Sore boobs gone when I woke up. Felt like it was over, threw tantrum like toddler, very grateful for sane OH.

⭐️ Then 5dp5dt ——> 7dp5dt, I’ve had CONSTANT dull bloats cramps (very similar but not exact same to AF), with occasional painful churning sensation (I normally get this day 1 of period, but it tends to be constant, whereas at the mo’ it’s like every few hours my uterus rotates itself and/or punches me). I also have a vile taste in dry mouth, swollen lips & constantly cold/shivery. Slight pink when I wiped last night. I know AF is arriving - my luteal phase is normally 9 - 11 days, & last time it broke through the progesterone.

Anyways, I really just feel I needed to share my week of crazy just in case anyone has experienced anything similar. Kind words or acknowledgment that you have felt the same would be appreciated. I don’t even need reassurances it worked out well, just would like to feel seen & less crazy 😜

🤔 Also I really feel we need a better way of describing cramps in these forums. Cramps vary soooo much, we need some kind of coding system!

Hi lovely, my 3 FETs have all been different and all BFN so I can’t give you a positive comparison I’m afraid! One I had all the symptoms, the next I had zero symptoms, the next I had varying symptoms so no definitive pattern which is annoying! What I would say though is I’ve never had cramps during my 2WW and these seem to be a good sign for a lot of people. Wishing you lots of luck!! Oh and totally agree with the cramp level labelling! Xxx

It’s such a crazy time isn’t it? I really wasn’t aware there were so many different types of cramping until I experienced several octaves of cramps this week. Sorry to hear your FETs didn’t work & also produced such weird variations of symptoms - were you following the same protocol? Like the least our bodies could do is follow the same pattern of “failure” (hate that word in this context, but can’t think of better!)

I’m your sister! I’m on my first cycle and 10dp5dt, beta is monday. I have cramped on and off the last 5/6 days, had very tender bbs until about day 4. Been tired and had a dull headache with hot flashes and shivers at different times. Have been so skeptical because I an 41 and reading all the forums and groups like mad telling me this can be AF symptoms, the crinone or pregnancy so worried but I got a faint line with FRER at 5am this morning so starting to think positive, however as soon as I went to the bathroom after testing I wiped some brown/pink discharge and still mildly cramping so panicking now its a chemical and AF is on the way! Its such a rollercoaster! Fingers crossed they are sticking for us both!!

Hi sister! The cramping sucks - has it been painful or just uncomfortable? The faint positive sounds exciting - have you been testing everyday? I’m too scared to test right now, I did 3 (yes 3!) HPT at 4dp5dt & got faint positives on each one, but a negative one 5dp5dt 🤷‍♀️ I decided it was making me crazy so I did what any sane/rational person would do & whacked a mini break on my credit card / left the tests at home. 😜 can’t wait to feel sane again.

The mini break sounds like a good plan to distract yourself! I was too scared to test early and even now I worry its a false positive or that its going to be negative tomorrow and this is just a chemical. I’m driving myself nuts, very nervous about the beta.

The cramps are not really painful, like a dull ache but quite often and sometimes for a long time. Enough to have woken me up on two occasions.

You may have just been testing out the trigger with your early positive and then negative, I wouldn’t get disheartened

Enjoy the break! Just whats needed I bet!

I had painful cramps and bleeding for 8 days after my fresh transfer. I was sure it didn't work but turns out it did. Then at 6 weeks, heavy bleeding. Called the ivf clinic to let them know I was miscarrying and they got me in for testing... By some miracle I am now 10 weeks pregnant and baby is doing great. Pregnancy is weird.... Baby dust to you and all the best x
