Tougher restrictions and IVF clinics?

Hi ladies,

Just wondering what people’s thoughts were on this. Do you think fertility clinics will close again? Has this happened to anyone in tier 3? I’m in London, so currently tier 2.

Hopefully everything will be allowed to run again. So cruel to all of us and if not.

Hope everyone is doing well x

Hi 👋

I'm in tier 3 in Scotland which is a little more strict than tier 3 for England and it's still business as usual with my NHS clinic. I've been told they over-reacted a little last time in shutting down too many different departments in the NHS, like a panic reaction with the unknown & now they know a little more, I reckon they won't close down treatment clinics until it's absolutely essential to do so, like in a nation wide lockdown situation.

We can only hope for the best & keep on keeping on 🤞 lots of luck for your upcoming egg collection xx

Fingers crossed it doesn’t happen as looks as though we’re going to have another nationwide lockdown ☹️

My clinic is in tier 3 and they’ve released a statement saying their intention is to continue as they are which is a relief. I think now places have procedures in place and know more about covid they are carrying on for as long as possible and hopefully carrying on full stop. It is a worry I have at the back of my mind but I’ve read lots of reassuring things x

I’m in Cardiff where we have a full lock down and my clinic have said they will stay open and gave us all letters to use for travel incase we are stopped. They said they have no intentions of closing again xx

Hi, I’m in Liverpool which is in Tier 3. The hospital said they are seeing less patients so can’t guarantee they will have space for me. Luckily I’ve managed to get an appointment next Tuesday and I’m praying it doesn’t get cancelled! x

I'm in London and my clinic also has no plans to close - now they have a good system in place there is no reason to, even in a full lockdown. I'm not completely sure about the NHS clinics as the one we were at before was allocated as a Covid hospital so the whole thing closed down, but as the Nightengale hospital is still available I'm hoping that won't happen again xxx

I believe clinics were all closed by HFEA last time they have release a statement to say that all clinics now have covid safe protocols in place that means they don't need to close again. Only issue would be if nhs resources get stretched and they need nurses etc and your clinic is with nhs, but i think should be ok. Lot of departments still not fully operating anyway so there should be other resources available x
