Early period- told you delay injections- any one experienced similar?

Hi all,

I was due to start my period on Thursday and therefore start injections same day (short protocol)

I’ve come on expectedly early (today!) and nurses have told me to wait till Thursday still to start injections but didn’t really give me a reason why.

I’m panicking a bit now that this will have a negative effect. I can only assume it’s due to scheduling with egg collection and transfer.

Has anyone else had the same situation or knows anything more!!

Also any tips for stim phase!

Scared excited and panicked 😬😬

Have you had a baseline scan today? I started my AF last thursday and didnt start meds until Saturday once i had my baseline scan. They then got the dr look at the scan and let me know what dose to start on. Im day 3 into stims (cd5) the injections get easier!

Good luck! Xx

Thanks for the reply. 🙂

They’re not doing any further Base line scans on me. They just told me to call on my first day of full bleed. But because I’m early said to wait to Thursday when I was originally due on 🤷🏼‍♀️ X

🤔when was ur last scan? They told me how many follicles i had at my baseline. And said they wanted to check my lining was reducing as it should be.

What meds are you going to be taking?

Im on Gonal F 300units just had some mild side effects: nausea, fatigue and some gastro discomfort.

Did they say if you will be having qny tracking scans??

Good luck x

My last baseline was in late July. They’ve said they can’t see any issues from my side and that my partner has very low sperm count so I don’t know if they are just assuming I’ll respond well and things are otherwise “ok”?

I’ve been put on 150 of meriofert and have will have a scan after 7 days of injecting.

Thanks and good luck to you too xx

Hi. I was on the short protocol with Menopur. My clinic does not seem to start injections on the first cycle day. On day 1 (evening) let them know my period started. They scheduled me for a baseline scan and blood tests on day 3. They phoned me to start on day 3. The other option would have been to start on day 4 or not at all (depending on scan and blood tests). I remember reading some instructions in the Menopur prospectus or an official treatment guideline issued by the producer, which I found on the internet. Maybe you can also find some additional info.

I hope it works well for you. Good luck! Xx
