Egg collection all done. Update.

Firstly, thank you so much for the lovely supportive messages this morning.

Don't know how to feel. Only two eggs, one in each ovary. Expected three but one follicle had already burst. It wasn't straightforward, the consultant had to move my uterus with forceps and some other weapon to get to my wonky left ovary. I got the impression he wasn't happy that I'd even been allowed to get to egg collection stage as it was so difficult to retrieve the egg. But persistence paid off and he managed. Could have hugged him I was so grateful.

2 eggs really isn't good, feel like my body is useless. X

Well done hun. It's never a straight road, but it does only take one! Hoping both do great so you will have a really good shot! 🤞💕 xxx

Well done you on getting to egg collection! That's a milestone in itself. Sorry to hear it wasn't a straightforward collection, but really hoping your two eggs do well. Your body is not useless! We usually only release like 1 a month don't we? You've achieved double that! xxxx

This sounds like a tough EC 😣 But it's done now, so another milestone ticked off! I understand your concerns, its extremely hard not to view a small number of eggs as a disappointment when some people get literally dozens😱 But do try to remember lots of people have success with just one egg! And each of those little eggs could be 'it' 🤞Wishing you lots of luck x

Hey don't be disheartened, like the others have said even just getting to egg collection is a huge achievement. I only got 3 eggs in my EC and I just had 1 transferred and have 2 in the freezer...the lower number of eggs can in some cases mean better quality because there are less eggs fighting for the nutrients! Mine are all top quality so i know it can be true x

I can understand why you feel disheartened but 2 eggs is still amazing and like the other ladies have said, it will only take one to stick. Sending positive vibes for those two eggies XX

That’s good news! 2 eggs is better than no eggs! My collection was yesterday and they only got 5.

Wishing you all the fertilisation luck!!

I only had one egg collected from one follicle. (It's my first IVF round) It fertilised and became a blastocyst and have since had it transferred. Reading lots of these comments sometimes people have a huge number of eggs collected and none make it to transfer stage. Everyone is so different and so many different drug combinations etc.

I am trying to stay positive and think each step ticked off is a good thing! You got 2 eggs, that's great!

Good luck!
