Journey with my eggs has ended 😢

Today I found out that my fet had not worked and I need to come to terms with this before moving on.

This was my 6th transfer and first ever frozen transfer.

I will be moving on to donor eggs does anyone have any advice for me moving forward? Has anyone used eggs donated by a family member xx

Sorry to hear this lovely. It's so unfair. It never gets any easier. We are in a similar position. We had our 4th failed cycle in January this year and didn't get to transfer. We thought moving to donor eggs was next step so had sperm DNA fragmentation test before moving on and my husband's results were really bad so now in position of not knowing whether donor eggs is even worth a shot or need to consider double donor. We are waiting for Dr to discuss at wider clinic review meeting to canvass opinions so we've hit the pause button for now. When we were actively thinking about moving on to donor I found that counselling was helpful. I also bought some books - there's one about epigenetics that my counsellor recommended (the epigenetics revolution by Nessa Carey) and then one called Three Makes Baby (there is also pod cast that is worth a listen by the author of this book). I've also found Instagram a helpful space - there's the account Defining Mum which is one lady's journey to motherhood - she has three daughters who are donor conceived. Good luck with finding a way forward xxx

I am sorry to hear this. I never had eggs, chemotherapy destroyed them as a child, so I can empathize.

I am in the same position, just trying to ascertain how donor eggs and IVF works.

I hope it all goes well.

Im really sorry Katrina, that is tough and I remember the feeling well! We went abroad for DE for many reasons such as anonyminity but also as they have no waiting lists but if you have someone in mind to donate eggs that would take that factor out. Just wanted to wish you all he best. Its hard moving on but take the time that you need to get your head around it. Have you thought about doing an endometrial receptivity test to check that your transfer window is ok? I cant remember how many times you have transferred and if your embryos were good grades so far but might be something you want to think about. Hugs.xx

I’m very sorry. I have no experience of this but can imagine it must be an incredibly difficult decision to make. I hope this is able to bring you the baby you deserve. Wishing you lots of luck xxx

So sorry that it didnt work for you lovely. It is so bloody tough. We are at a similar point, looking to move on to try DE after 6th failed transfers too. We can’t afford it yet so are currently saving up and looking at some different clinics abroad. It took us quite a while to process the decision and come to terms with it (that we could no longer use my eggs). But I am at ease with the decision now and just hoping that it will increase our chances of finally bringing home our miracle baby. Sending lots of love your way and happy to chat any time xxx

I'm so sorry to hear your story, sending big hugs. I too had to come to terms with using donor eggs instead of my own eggs last year. I had my first embryo transfer this week eeek, and currently trying to not drive myself crazy. I don't know our donor.

My advice would be to do lots of research and if possible have some counselling specifically aimed at talking about donor eggs (our clinic in the uk insisted on counselling before entering onto their donor egg program). There are also some fabulous Instagram accounts and blogs out there from people who have had to make their family in different ways, feel free to pm me for more details on those. They have helped me massively, as it makes me feel i am not alone with some of the feelings i have. This forum is also fantastic, I've met some lovely people who have helped me so much, as i know i can talk to them about stuff i can't talk to friends and family about. Good luck xx

Thank you everyone for you lovely messages. I took some time away from here and now have a clear head to move forward xx
