I had 12 weeks scan a week ago and they told me that baby’s heart beat was 172 and I am wondering is it normal and somewhere in google it was written that if it’s baby girl then heart rate is higher and baby boy’s heart rate is usually under 140. So I am worried in case this heart rate is not normal and increased or maybe it’s a baby girl? Further more mypartner is planning to take me out in campervan up north of Nz which is 6 hours drive and comming back too and I am worried that all that travel is okay for me in this situation or I should not go !! Unfortunately we who are fighting with infertility gets scared from everything, please reply if you know anything
Kind regards

The heartbeat boy/girl thing is just an old wives tale! The sonographer would have told you if there was anything to be concerned about so please try not to worry.
As for travelling, I think it’s completely fine but you should only do what you feel comfortable with but either way it wouldn’t hurt the baby xx
I have no idea! I don’t think she told us at our 12 week scan. Baby wasn’t being very cooperative though 😂
I had a private scan just before 12 weeks as we were worried about Covid affecting the NHS one (was right at the start of lockdown) and on that one it was 160 xx
Hello... I was also told that my baby has a fast heartbeat and I googled it and worried but baby is fine (currently 35 weeks) and it’s still faster than the average and nobody seems concerned... travel wise... I regularly (before lock down) travelled home to visit family and it’s a 6hour car journey each way... as long as you feel fine then I say go for it. Especially if you’re going to have fun x
