I used to. They discovered a tiny pituitary tumour away back in 2010 because I showed symptoms of high prolactin when I came off my pill. I went under an endocrinologist who prescribed cabergoline which normalised my prolactin and made my cycles more regular. I used it right through my iui treatments and through the ivf which gave me my little girl. I stopped the cabergoline as soon as I got the positive pregnancy test.

During the pregnancy, I got an extra check from the eye doctors at the hospital to make sure the tumour wasnt growing and pressing on optic nerve while pregnant/off the medication.

When I had my baby, I breastfed for 6-8 weeks and they then kept an eye on prolactin which had seemed to normalise itself. Three years after stopping the medication , I have not been back on it and my cycles are regular and prolactin is normalised.

How did it make you feel when you first started? I struggle with anxiety and depression and since I started taking it I noticed both have gotten a lot worse. And I’m extremely tired all day. I’m barely on my second week of taking it and I take it twice a week

It was that long ago I can't really think. I used to take 2 tablets a week, at the one time - i remember i used to take them every Thursday evening - I think that it was recommended to take them in the evening?

Yes I take mine in the evening as well but I was told it stays in your system up to almost 70 hours and I’ve felt pretty horrible after taking it

You should speak to your doctor and see if there are any alternatives? Xx

Thank you I will I just wanted to get some insight to maybe see if anyone else has taken it and has similar reactions that maybe went away or if this isn’t even related to the medication and could be something else
