Scottish clinics

Hey, so I guess you’ve all been checking the HFEA website like I have and noticing that all the clinics on there are English? Our counsellor today who happens to also work for a private clinic told us that while they are all still applying at the moment they aren’t likely to get approval until the lockdown rules are relaxed in Scotland. I was devastated but thought it was important to share, maybe someone else has heard different? We have our clinic counsellor on Monday so planning to ask her what she knows about our clinic specifically. 🤞

Hi.. Dont know about scotland but were still on same lockdown measures as yourselves in northern ireland here and clinics have already started to get approval x

That’s good news. I hope it’s just speculation from this one private clinic then. She said they were expecting to have to wait at least another 3 weeks. Don’t see why we would as you say we’re just the same as you! 🤞🤞 That’s good to hear, thanks for telling me! x

My clinic emailed today and said they have approval but they can only work at limited capacity so will be in touch in the coming weeks x

I’d just like a general idea of when I’m counting down to, that would help give me a little bit of focus. I’ve found someone who was top of the list at my clinic so she’ll hear first I imagine and let me know. 🤞 Good luck! x

I haven’t heard yet but on their webpage it said they’d be applying to open. I was on a protocol so should be one of the first. Fingers crossed x

Nicolas statement about it on May 6th after the HFEA announcement was very vague ‘they would hope they could open soon’ 😢 there are welsh and Northern Ireland ones on there who are also still in lockdown but not a single Scottish one. If we are in a different boat we should be told clearly and openly!

Thanks for the update. I haven't seen my clinic in Glasgow on the list and was wondering when to phone again. maybe lockdown rules in Scotland will relax after these extra weeks.

Only worry is if we have to go back into lockdown if there's a second wave. Germany are back in lockdown so I wanted to get in quick.

That’s excellent news! That’s where my counsellor works so that makes me hopeful things have already changed since we spoke to her yesterday (and maybe her information was out of date). She said they were applying but not expecting to reopen for at least 3 weeks. Congrats! My clinic has posted to say they haven’t actually applied yet.... useful as ever! x
