I knew I shouldn’t have been excited- should have kept a level head as I’ve always been the negative one and this is why.
So they were hoping for 10 but only got 6 eggs today. I’m still young they say so don’t understand 😅.
Feel so deflated- I know they only need 1 but what is wrong with me?
All the way through, it’s been my husband that’s been told it’s him but since the clinic have dug deeper it seems to be both of us by the looks of things!
Now I am going round everything in my head- what I should and shouldn’t have done.

Hello we are in the exact same position. It has turned out to be both of us. They only got 2 eggs from me the first time. 8 the second time. It’s so poop. But keep your head up and keep going you’d right they only need one xxx
I got only 8 eggs and only 2 fertlized and I am only 29 but I have my day 5 embryo transferred yesterday!! Try not to be disheartened by numbers!! You do only need one and everyone is different t dont compare yourself or your situation to anyone else!!
Hi PurpleLove. 6 is not such a bad number, when you think we only usually get between 6-12 on average. I doubt there is not too much to worry about, for should this round not work, it could be a matter of adjusting your drug dose a little. Fingers crossed for fertilisation and you get to a safe transfer. Thinking of you. Diane
In my experience they shout out so many numbers during your scans and the nurses are always ‘cautiously optimistic’ estimating more.
6 is a fantastic number, and within the average! They say its quality not quantity. A friend of mine only had 1 egg, transferred day 2 and shes currently 20weeks pregnant! I understand why you feel disappointed, but you’re still well in the running!

Hi my love! I think I'm in a similar position. I'm not sure how old you are, but I've also been deflated by 6 eggs on my last round (I'm 32), although it IS a good number! You're in a really good place. I know it's cliche, but you really do only need 1! Anyway, you can't transfer ALL 6 on this round, so you REALLY only need one. I know it's disheartening, but it's all a game of chance, and I've got a lot of hope for your 6. If you were trying naturally and you were the most fertile person on earth, you wouldn't expect 6 eggs to come out in one month! I have no idea if that's helpful! Think everyone else saying 6 is in the average range is more helpful. xxxxx
I’m 29 soon to be 30. I don’t know if it’s how the embryologist told us but I just thought it seemed low. Especially after being told my follicles all looked in their words “really nice”. I think I just get one bit of positivity and run with it. Thank you for your reply xx
Yeah, I can definitely understand being disappointed. We all want as many eggs as possible. I can totally understand with having that many follicles too. Sometimes I think the doctors etc. forget how they come across as it's just business as usual to them, and it's our whole world to us and the most important thing ever! Really hoping that they do super well. xxxxx
I am 29 hun. Thank you- I kind of expected it as the clinic said at my pre treatment scan that I needed the long protocol as my follicle count was low. Then I thought the meds had helped as I’ve had that many side effects. Let’s hope they are good quality 🥚
I only got 5 last round! I’m reading your post thinking ‘she’s so lucky’. Hopefully you will get some embryos 😘💐💖💖💖
This journey messes with your head. Focus on quality over quantity also I think it helps to say ‘ok, MY body grew 6 eggs’ and that’s it. Every person is different so try not to compare yourself .
It certainly has a way of getting you hyped up to come crashing back down.
I had a call earlier, they don’t normally do it on the day of collection, but they said they would as I was so deflated. They have been able inject 5/6 eggs 💉🥚 (ICSI) and they were ringing me tomorrow with an update. X

Six is great! You got eggs!! That’s the main thing. You have to keep getting over the hurdles - number one is done and I wish you heaps of luck for your call tomorrow! All will be well xx
