7dp5dt - Tempted to test ๐Ÿ˜ข

Hi All, Iโ€™m 7dp5dt and the next 1 week feels like forever away. I am very tempted to test early but on the other hand donโ€™t want to risk a false result . How did/are you managing the urge to test early and when is the earliest time for an accurate home test ?

It is such a hard time! I'll be honest.. I didnt manage not to test haha! I started getting good positives 5dp5dt but it doesnt ease the nerves.. however neither does the blood test in my opinion ๐Ÿคฃ if you do end up testing make sure you use and early test such as FRER or clear blue early result x

I stupidly tested at 5dp5dt and got a BFN, I managed to not test until 9dp5dt and got a faint BFP. If I had tested any earlier, it would have been a negative! So if you do test and itโ€™s a negative ITS NOT OVER

good luck xxx

I canโ€™t advise but all I can say about myself, is that after 5 years on this journey. I canโ€™t face doing a pregnancy test, so will be waiting for bloods on Thursday. I am 8dp5dt. I canโ€™t control or change it so just waiting it out x

Hi Abi,

I tested and got a faint positive at 4dp 5dt but it really varies. Itโ€™s best to be honest with yourself in recognising how testing early and the possibility of encountering certain results will make you feel. If the possibility of a negative result will really set you back then donโ€™t test as thereโ€™s no way of determining if itโ€™s a false negative until later. If you can get a negative and maintain a positive mindset then go for it, but also bear in mind that even early positives can change by OTD which is why waiting has its benefits. Good luck. x

Hi Abi- I was in your exact same position last week...then all these beautiful ladies on this forum made me change my mind....and I didnโ€™t test.

What did they say? They said thatโ€™s itโ€™s early and if you see a bfn it may not be real so youโ€™ll get upset for nothing. I know itโ€™s really hard but believe me, itโ€™s worth the wait โค๏ธ

Youโ€™ve managed to 7 days.... just same again . ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

I remember feeling like I couldnโ€™t do another week but Iโ€™m glad I waited because I knew my result was real . Testing early seems to ramp up the stress levels from what I see ๐Ÿคฃ

Try and get to 10 .... then 12 etc. Just count it down ! 6 more sleeps! Plan something to watch and do every day . Keep yourself busy so you just have to jump into bed when the day is over .

You can do it

Oh crap, dont do it! I say that but I did....I'm a flipping nightmare! It's so hard to resist but seeing a stark white window glaring back at you is completely shit!! Best of luck and I dont mean to lecture as like I say....I do test early but you need to weigh up the balance of being crushed vs seeing a positive.... it's hard to get that mojo back once you see a negative!!xxxx

Dont do it. You will only torture yourself like I did by testing early and have the potential to get continuous negatives until beta day. You will only stress. Best of luck to you

Don't test! Distraction, distraction, distraction. I know it's so hard not to test as we all want to know now! But, they give you an OTD for a reason and it's best to wait (if you can) til then so you don't get a false result. It can be unnecessarily upsetting and confusing testing early. Best to still live in hope either way until you can get a more accurate result. Lots of love. xxx

IDK, Iโ€™m in the US and no one says anything to you about not testing. They make you do bloodwork at 14dp5dt regardless. I have done one fresh IVF cycle and four FETs, 4 out of 5 of those resulting in a pregnancy. I tested every day following the transfer with cheap test strips from Amazon (25 mIU) and got very faint positives 4dp5dt in all four. By 7dp5dt the positive result was very clear. I donโ€™t understand what you get out of not testing.

Less likely to get a false result that may change by the official test day. You may upset yourself if you see a negative result and convince yourself youโ€™re not pregnant when it was simply too early to pick up the pregnancy hormone. It can also sometimes save you the pain of becoming aware of a chemical pregnancy. x

Does that not seem, like, just dripping in patriarchy to you? โ€œOh, we mustnโ€™t get your poor little lady brain upset. You couldnโ€™t possibly understand the complexities of statistics or the concept that negative now might just mean not yet.โ€ Idk, I canโ€™t handle letting other people control my data.

I appreciate your view but I believe it just comes down to what the individual prefers. They get informed of the risks, given that many women experience upset and regret testing early, and then itโ€™s up to them whether they test or not during their 2 week wait...x

I tested at 5dp5dt and was a positive, if you do test get a first response it will be the clearest test xxxx

I'm defo one to encourage not testing until test day (even though I've not been able to help myself!). This whole fiasco is emotionally challenging as it is, let alone seeing a negative (dealing with heartache for it to change to a bfp) or seeing a positive change to a negative. Its like a bad itch!

Like RhinoCat says, take it one day at a time, when I tried it for all of a few days ๐Ÿ˜‚, it was more like get to 12 noon and you only have half a day left until you've done another day! Lots of luck and do whatever feels right for you!! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€ Xxx
