How long should you wait before starting a new cycle?
My first cycle was in September and I got 10 mature eggs, my second cycle was in November, should I have waited longer as I only got 4 mature eggs?!
Also on the second cycle I went for the short protocol instead of log protocol but started drugs on day 3 of period not day 2, would this day delay cause the drop in eggs that developed?
Can changing protocols and drugs change the outcome of eggs you produce?
I’m trying to work out what went so wrong this time! Should I have waited longer before cycles, should I have stuck to the same drugs and protocol, did starting on day 3 of period hinder the results?
Thanks
Mel

Hi Mel, sorry to hear about your recent cycle. I had my first cycle start on Day 3 and had one lead follicle develop ahead of the rest, so for my next 2 cycles the doctor switched me to begin on Day 2 which went much better. I also upped the dose of stims as well, and used a different drug (Gonal F instead of Menopur). I have always done short protocol. But in short, changing process, drugs and dosage can impact number of eggs retrieved and in my case having an earlier start also created more even growth. I didn’t wait much between cycles - just 1 or 2 months. Best of luck with your next cycle. Xx
