Sadly we’re out at 8 weeks

Firstly congratulations to those that have made it through their early pregnancy viability scans in the past week. I have my fingers crossed things continue to go well.

Sadly for us, our scan yesterday showed another MMC of twins - they measured just over 6 weeks. I have to wait until Tuesday for a D&C.

I had had a FET from the IVF cycle that gave us our son, who’s just turned 1. I guess it was too much to hope that giving him a sibling would be that easy!

Hard to know what to do next?! We have 2 remaining un-tested blastocysts from the same IVF cycle. However so far we’ve had 3 pregnancies and 1 live birth. That IVF cycle was when I was 39.

I have recently turned 41, and the prospect of IVF success now feels even more remote! I am starting to think I have lots of almost genetically normal embryos. Sadly we just need 1 normal one.

We did 2 further IVF cycles before this last FET over the summer. One yielded 6 blasts that were genetically tested and found to have age related chromosomal abnormalities and the other yielded 1 blast that for cost reasons we decided just to freeze and not test.

Any suggestions of what you’d do if you were me would be greatly received?!

I’m not sure I want to go down the donor egg route, but never say never right! The clinic are of the view that as I have a good egg reserve and respond well to IVF that if I’m prepared to keep going it is highly likely we’d have another child. But there is cost and emotions to consider.

Thanks for reading!

This is devastating. I'm so sorry. A missed miscarriage is cruel I've been there 💔

Have you looked into having your natural killer cells checked? It might be worth exploring that ?

We're here if you need us xx 💛

Thank you.

Because I’ve had a live birth between miscarriages to date I’ve not considered NK cell testing. Perhaps that’s naive of me and worth exploring. Will aka my Consultant.

I’m so sorry that you’ve had this news. Sending hugs your way xx

Thank you!

And please try not to let my (and other similar) news freak you out. There is more likelihood than not that your pregnancy will continue. That said, I know full well when you’ve been on a journey, the fear of never getting pregnant immediately switches to the fear of losing it.

Look after yourself, x

No advice I’m afraid but I just wanted to say how sorry I am xx

Thank you.

And can I just say how happy I was when I saw you’d had a baby. We were going through similar struggles a few years back and am so glad, despite the painful journey you and your partner endured, that it worked in the end.

Just enjoy it! X

So truly sorry for your loss xox

Thank you, and me for yours. I know the pain of this loss as the days pass is nothing compared to that before we had our son.

Like us, you seem to have a lot of embryos frozen from 1 IVF cycle. Sadly it’s a lottery which one will give you your most sought after child. That said, I’m sure you will get there.

After my first miscarriage we did a natural FET in the cycle following and had our son. If you feel emotionally ready, I’d just go for it.

I wish you lots of luck with your next FET. X
