I’m now 2 days late for my period... I did a tests yesterday - negative and one this morning - negative!! Could it still be that my HCG levels are low? It’s very unlike me to not come on as I’m usually always like clockwork. Trying not to give up hope but getting really frustrated with myself more than anything...
how long would you suggest I leave it before testing again?

Hi Jmm, I can understand how frustrating and nerve wrecking that is. Are you on a natural cycle? My clinic says that the earliest you should test is 2 days after a missed period, so It could still be that it is just a bit too early. Maybe your ovulation was later as usual? However, I dont want to get your hopes up too much, because it could equally be that your body is just playing tricks on you and your period is really only just too late.
I know it is terrible, but maybe just do another test tomorrow. I cross my fingers for you that Option number 1 is true

Hi Thank you for taking the time to reply... natural yes. I used ovulation sticks for the first time this month and according to them and natural tracking I ovulated when I “should have done” I say that in quotations as there’s always give and take... it’s just so hard to not get too hopeful...
that’s very interesting about the 2 days after... if my period doesn’t show then I’ll do another test tomorrow if not then I’ll try my hardest to wait out a few more days... I’m trying to think of reasons as to why I could just be late but can’t pin point anything other than am I just trying to convince myself? 🙈 Thank You me too! Xxx
No advice, but share your frustration. Used to be clockwork, but TTC has ruined me. I’m officially 9 days late, and frustrated... everyday BFN
Have you been to your doctor and ran some bloods? I really do feel for you, I can only imagine your frustration right now, I’ll have everything crossed for you! 🤞 it’s just so hard isn’t it, I’ve just today had advice of don’t think about it and test again in a week.. and I really wanted to respond with yes your right why have I never thought of that... I'll stop thinking about the only thing I want in the world and re test in a week - if only it was so simple 😫 xxx
Agreed. I have issues where we live in Staffordshire trying to see a doctor... 4 week wait... absolutely ridiculous.... so I guess here I am 10 days late and still BFN
4 weeks? That’s horrendous! And completely adds to your frustration, I’ve decided I’m waiting out until friday before I test again and what I do next will be on the basis of the results as otherwise there’s no other explanation for a missed period for me personally... xxx
Hi Jmm. You will only have hCG in your blood if you are pregnant, or following a trigger shot during IVF. I wouldn't bother testing until you are at least 7/10 days late with your period, providing they are usually regular. Diane
