9dp5dt faint positive, worse than recieving a BFN or BFP. More limbo...

Went to the clinic for our official test this afternoon. Gave them a urine sample from this morning. She said we have a faint positive, which could mean a slow starter, could mean it's something that's not working out or could be ectopic. They've asked us to go back on Monday to retest. If I start bleeding before then, I can retest at home to save the trip. I don't really know what I'm thinking, just been crying for the last hour. Not sure what I'm asking of you guys either, but just releasing and offloading I guess.

Getting a positive is a huge worry that I didn't consider at all! I went into complete panic and didn't even really get the chance to enjoy it. You could ask the clinic if they'd do a couple of bloods for beta hCG 48 hrs apart to show a rise. Congrats, for me a positive is a positive and that's a whole lot better than a negative. Good luck, fingers crossed for you!xx

Thank you for the reply. A friend said the same about a positive being a positive. It's just not feeling right though. I can't help but think the line should be stronger at this point of testing. Just waiting to see if my period starts now... I've read a lot about the blood tests so I might ask on Monday xx

Some pregnancy tests don't give really dark, clear positive lines. It really depends on the brand to be honest. So long as your levels are rising. My friend didn't get a positive until 13dp5dt and has a little girl. Hang on in there.xx

Hello! :)

I had a similar situation to you in my first BFP cycle and my urine test using a FRER on 9dp6dt was very faint (check my posts if you’d like to see the picture ). I had the same thoughts you are having and and feared a chemical.

But it was not! The lines got stronger day by day. I guess the embryo implanted late.

Sadly I miscaried that pregnancy at almost 9 weeks, but that was totally unrelated to the faint line at 9dpt.

There is still a lot of hope for you I recon, don’t give up just yet.

Very good luck 😘

Thanks you for your little story. It gives me a glimmer of hope. But I'm just feeling so down about it, surely that line should be stronger xx

Plenty of stories out there of faint lines resulting in healthy babies 😉

But I can’t blame you for worrying, I did too !

I’ll keep everything crossed for you xx

Oh stars, that sounds like a worrying ordeal. It’s easy to say try and distract yourself but I know that’s not possible. Do try and have positive thoughts. It could very well be a little shy x

I thought a faint positive at 9dp5dt could be pretty normal?? Hang on in there...2 lines is still a positive even if faint x

I don't really understand the big worry at this point. It is still very early. My official test date was only 12dp5dt, and I didn't test before that so wouldn't even know at that point. I wish you good luck and fingers crossed that it stays positive! :-)
