Distraught

Haven’t been here in a while. Had a successful IVF round with one embryo (only remaining one). Went into pre term labour and delivered a beautiful little girl. Who, after three weeks died in hospital in my arms. Waited 8 years for this little blessing. Exhausted, devastated and actually quite numb. Lots of people at the funeral said “you will be blessed again”. No one actually knows the journey and how we got here. It’s not put me off trying again but honestly? It’s the sheer injustice of it all.

Gosh Im so terribly sorry for the loss of your much loved little girl! Im also so sorry that people have opened their mouths without thinking! I really do not know what goes through peoples heads that they engage their mouth without being more considerate.....I have no words really. Very sad story.

I had an elder brother who was premature and lived for about 5 days.

Being premature is not easy: I was also.

My parents went on to have further children after this.

There is always hope.

Im so upset reading this, its such sad heartbreaking news and what a hard heartbreaking journey. Its so unfair of what people say and its like salt to a open wound. Most people (i hope) do wish you better but some you just wish they wouldn’t bother.

This is awful I’m so sad to hear this. This also happened to my friend 2 weeks ago at 20 weeks and she’s been through hell. I prayer that you can begin to feel much better in yourself with time and no words can describe how your feeling which I totally understand. Time is healer so look after yourself and take time out for you xxx

The stupidity of some people’s comments amazes me, like it’s not ok for you to take a moment and grieve.

I’m so sorry for your loss of your baby girl, I cannot imagine how you must be feeling.

I read an article written by someone who had lost their baby (within days of giving birth). Have you seen it? It was shared round social media last year & might help (just from the shared experience point of view). Let me know if you want me to try & track it down for you.

When you’ve struggled to conceive for so long, I can completely see the even greater feeling of injustice in the whole experience you’ve had. Sending you and your OH lots of love, hope you manage to take some time out for yourselves in all of this xxx
