Hello everyone

Today Is 9dp6dt of my third tranfer.

I know most people get reliable results this far after transfer so I decided to test this morning using my first urine of the day.

I started by using the first response test which gave me a very faint second line. I hope you can see it too. This never Happened to me before, this is my first hint of a BFP.

Because it was so faint I used other cheaper tests to see what they say, and both are negative.

My questions are:

- any chance the first test is a false positive ?

- because my transfer was 9 days ago, is this more likely to be a chemical pregnancy that it is still showing on the very sensitive test, or maybe the embryo implanted very late? It was a hatching blastocyst, so I would expect it to implant quite soon after transfer...

Your opinions are very wellcome.

I will be certainly testing again tomorrow xx

I think it’s likely too early for the other tests. My clinic’s test day is 13dp5dt, and although I got a strong line that day, my friend didn’t get a strong line until 14dp5dt. So I think things are currently looking positive for you. Good luck for the next few days x

I so hope you are right Lizzie!

Thank you 😊

I was told particularly on FRERs you can't get a false positive. You dont know that you didnt have late implantation... when is your clinics actual test date? I would wait until then and at least you have a definitive answer. I know from years of trying its sooo tough but testing early generally leads to more confusion and ultimately won't change the outcome (she says knowing full well I will be testing early next cycle)

Good luck xx

My otd is only on Thursday 6/12... but I think some clinics don’t make people wait 14 whole days 😐

I know, We shouldn’t really be testing early but it’s so difficult not to sometimes.

Plus I prefer knowing if I had a chemical rather than no implantation at all I think.

Thank you for replying xx

Hi, definitely see a line on first response test, so it’s good sign as those tests are the most reliable ones! I’m not having experience with chemical pregnancies so not sure. Retest on your test day with first response test or clearblue test and you will see, line is line, congratulations !

Thank you my lovely xxx

Really hope the line is still there next time I test xx

You test early and maybe is why the line is faint. It happened to me once that I tested positive on first response but negative on very chip test-I wouldn’t trust them really. It’s really good sign to have positive first response test by now! Good luck and wish you happy pregnancy 💝

I hope you don’t mind me asking. Have you decided to take steroids for this transfer?

CatDV profile image
CatDV in reply to Kari55

Of course I don’t mind. Yes, I am on prednisone 10mg in the morning and 5mg lunch time.

I also requested clexane which I started on the day of transfer. :)

Thank you 😊 I was on Clexane during last cycle but now I’m wondering whether to try to steroid as I’m planning to have FET in January which will be our 3rd transfer. I do hope you get a clear positive soon xx

I do see the faint line - I don't think you need to necessarily jump to the conclusion it's chemical. 9 days is still pretty early it may well be the other tests aren't sensitive enough. HCG levels are supposed to double every 2 days or so. If you test again on Monday you'll have a better idea. I think it's positive (tentative congratulations!!) but I understand you'll want to be cautious

Thank you lovely :)

Hope all is progressing well for you.

My worry is that 9 days after tranfer is the equivalent of the day of a missed period if I’m not mistaken, that’s why I expected either an obvious negative or an obvious positive.

I think my brain is trying to protecting me from a disappointment and it makes me already imagine the worst case scenario from the beginning...

I’ll try to be more positive 😊

I'm doing fine hon, thanks :)

I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that if you suspect you're pregnant you take the test AFTER you miss a period. If today's the day it would be due it's still very early on and so a faint line is encouraging. Not much to do except keep waiting xxx

You are right! :)

Thank you very much xxx

I agree with Lizzielizzielizzzie- probably too early for the other tests & first response is more sensitive which at this point makes a big difference. Definitely a positive first response test! Congratulations I’m so thrilled for you 😍 Such a wonderful early Christmas present for you both 😘 Wishing you the very best with your pregnancy xoxo

I say a cautious congratulations, I can definitely see the line on the FRER. It’s very early days for the cheapies to be showing positive! Maybe give it a few days and test again? xx

Yes, I’ll be testing tomorrow and if there is a second line again then maybe I’ll wait to otd to test again xx

I can definitely see a faint 2nd line on the first response, congratulations. I tested early yesterday with a cheap eBay test and got a very faint line and re tested today with first response and got a really decent line so the first response must be much more sensitive so I would believe the positive xx

Thank you. Problem with early testing is it becomes an obsession I'll be testing again tomorrow then otd is Monday then I'll probably still want to test at least once a week !!!

So true! Spent 20£ today in only 4 tests 😓

Good luck to us xx

First response is the most sensitive and I got a positive 8dp 3dt. They say they only need 6 miu of hcg. The others would require 10-25miu so are less sensitive.

When you test again, it should get stronger as hcg is supposed* to double every 48 hours however this isn’t always the case as some ladies can vouch.

Congratulations, fingers crossed this is your time xx

Thank you!

Exactly, fingers crossed

I just bought some more tests, I’ll re-test tomorrow x

Oh it does look like a line on the first one, and given that it’s a wee bit earlier that’s surely a good thing. Keeping my fingers crossed it gets darker tomoro x

Only the bottom one looks negative to me. The top two have two lines, although on both the second lines are faint.. but then it is early.. Good luck xx

Thanks lovely.

It is probably optical illusion from the picture unfortunately. I put in all positions and even pointed a torch at it and there is no line on the second test.

In fact, if I point the torch at the third test there is a veeeery faint line, but it’s likely to be an evaporation line since the test is now hours old.

Hope 2ww is treating you well 😘
