Advice please guys!!

I’m looking at IVF Spain in Alicante for DE. Does anyone have any experience, good or bad stories they are willing to share through DM please? Am desperate for advice!

Hi Michelle, we need to start considering DE (I assume that means donor eggs?!) and the doctor suggested Alicante as an alternative to hear because there's more possibilities. So any advice would be greatly appreciated too! X

Hi Zara-I’ve got no experience to share yet but I’m guessing it’s the same clinic I’ve been looking at. Had my Skype consultation already and just sent them all my previous treatment details and blood results etc so waiting for a treatment plan. Good luck.xx

Oh that’s fantastic. Are you using DE? I have a telephone conversation booked with them tomorrow and then if all goes well we will book to have our consultation out there. X

I may do one more cycle with my own eggs (I’ve done 2 here but failed) and then move to DE but not sure-they may advise to go straight to DE-I’m hoping to find out this week. They’ve asked for many more blood tests than my clinic here-thyroid, clotting function etc. so although it’s been a pain to get and pay for more tests it makes me wonder why my clinic here don’t do them as routine. It’s just a minefield!!

They were very organised for my Skype call-was more then giving me info and some questions about medical history but I’d completed and sent the questionnaires before the consultation. Hope it goes well for you.x

That’s good to hear hun. Yes, the clinics abroad are very thorough with their testing. This is 1 reason why we chose abroad. Did you find it cheaper to have the blood tests over here rather than pay with the clinic. My results are over 6 months old so need new ones. Did you have to pay for the Skype call? Sorry for the questions. 😘

My local clinic said they’d do my blood tests, scans and meds for £1000 so this was cheaper than us going there and paying for flights etc. The crazy thing is my clinic will also charge £1000 for subsequent rounds when it’s just scans and meds. I think they may have got it wrong to be honest but I’m not going to volunteer to pay them more as it’s all so much money in the first place.

My Skype consultation was €140 I think.x

Those tests don’t include the genetic compatibility test for hubby. That’s another €750!!☹️

Thanks for the information hun, I think I’ll ask IVF Spain tomorrow about the price of having all the tests there when we go for the consultation. I feel I need to see the clinic and meet them before I decide 100%. When are you looking at going over there for the treatment? X

I’m hoping to start with my next period which will be the end of the month.x

I think I might be at a different clinic but they did tell me they could do all tests in one day if we had gone over. I just can’t afford more time off work ☹️

I’m thinking to do it in Tarragona ( Spain) ‘embriogyn’ I read very good reviews from Dr Feliu.

I am Barcelona. They definitely check first whether you can try again with own eggs. I love going abroad for the treatment, its like a wee holiday each time - although that does add to the costs..
