Sorry to hear this. People can be so insensitive. For most of us there is no magic solution to our infertility. We do what we can and some things like weight are hard to change. I know this as I'm also overweight.

Weight is a factor that affects fertility and I know that in my area for ivf your bmi has to be below 30 so it is something to focus on.

I found a Chinese herbalist who helped me lose some weight. It did help to know I was doing what I could.

Try not to feel blamed by the gp. I'm sure they are trying to be helpful. Yes there are overweight people giving birth each day, just as some people who drink lots of caffeine and alcohol still get pregnant. Life is more complex for us people with fertility issues. Be kind to yourself. Try to take small steps forward towards your dream.

Hi

So sorry you've been struggling for a long time. It's so disappointing and yes plenty of bigger women conceive.

I was over weight and my BMI was over 30 but I managed to get it down to qualify for NHS IVF treatment.

Are you hoping to start treatment in the future? If so NHS will not accept anyone with BMI over 30. When I was losing weight I had to go to my GP every 2 weeks to be weighed. I was put on Oralstat (I think that's how it's spelt) to help me lose weight which did work well along with going to the gym 4 times a week. I lost 15 kg.

Xx
