Hi ladies firstly thank you for your kind words of support to my post on Thursday as I discovered after having my 7 week scan (strong pregnancy symptoms and hormone levels) I had a blighted ovum (perfectly formed placenta but no embryo).
As the scan caught us off guard and my mind was spinning with this news, the options for next steps were discussed and I had elected for a D&C this coming Friday. I'm contemplating pushing this back another week in the hope of a natural MC but wanted to know if anyone has been through this, your thoughts and how long did you wait for a natural MC?
Thanks lovelies xx

Hi Im sorry for your loss mc are so hard and emotional. I had a blighted ovum in Nov I was 12w and started to bleed a little went to EPU was scanned I naturally mc within 3 days. Pregnant again went for my 12w scan on wed 25/7 baby measuring at 9w and no heartbeat. I wasn’t bleeding no symptoms of mc, I started bleeding on fri a little bit, yesterday full on mc today better hopefully it’s all coming away. I think my brain needs to see and trigger the mc and it just starts.
Hi Christine. I'm sorry to hear your news. Have you experienced any spotting or bleeding yet? I've had a couple of natural miscarriages around 8-10 weeks and generally took about 10-14 days to complete after the first spotting. I also had 2 with medical management. Tbh my first one was awful so I didn't want to risk it happening any where I wasn't expecting it i.e. at work so I'd choose medical management or d&c if it ever happens again.
Hi Caroline no spotting or bleeding although I still am experiencing morning sickness which is difficult particularly knowing what the outcome will be.
I've decided not to delay the D&C and will go on on Friday as scheduled provided it does not happen before then.
Thank you for your advice and I'm sorry to hear that you have been through this x
Hi christine i naturally miscarried 5 days after i was told i was miscarrying but i think it helped that my hcg numbers came down quickly which was a sign i didnt need intervention
