Hello, after two failed IVF attempts I am now pregnant. My viability scan is scheduled for early August, which is only a month after my transfer. They said it will be day 36. I'm not sure how many weeks this is.
Does anyone know if I can expect to see a heartbeat at this scan or is it too early?
Thanks,
Sending love to you all at the various stages of the journeys.

A month after transfer is usually about 6 weeks as your weeks are counted from the date of your last period. It is usually scheduled for 6 weeks as that is the point when you are more likely to see a flickering white light (the heartbeat). If you scan before then you may see nothing at all even though you have a perfectly normal pregnancy. Wishing you all the best xx
Hi forMoira. Usually a first scan is done at 6 or 7 weeks, which is the earliest the heartbeat is normally seen. 36 days would make you around 5 weeks pregnant, so you might not see it, but they can do measurements to check the embryo is developing ok. Diane
Hi! Our first ultrasound was 7wk 3d. It showed 138 bmp. Our sweet boy measuring 7 wks 3ds. I suppose 36 ds might be too early. Don't worry. Better call your nurse and ask. My positive thoughts and warm hugs going your way. xx
