15 Eggs collected yesterday. Only 6 left today 😢

Hi

Should I be worried? We were so excited yesterday after 15 eggs collected. Then had our phone call this morning and we only have 6 left. What if they keep getting less and less as the days go on?

We had 9 eggs, 8 fertilized embryos and 2 good quality embryos got to 5 day blast....

We wanted more but....I think it is quality over quantity...

You've still got good numbers but I understand your disappointment when the numbers seem to go down! Hang on in there and keep your chin up, as EB said quality over quantity!xx

We had 9 eggs first round, 8 fertilised, 1 got to 5 day blast. On 2nd we only had 4 eggs collected, 3 fertilised and 2 made it to 5 days (now pg with twins!). As EB says, it really is quality over quantity xx

Honestly, after our four eggs were collected I was crying with disappointment after they told us. I was googling adoption and everything, totally felt like it was over before it even started. Was pretty overwhelmed when they told us they were able to transfer 2 of them. Our blasts were 5AB's so pretty good quality, not entirely sure what we did differently though!! Good luck with it, the wait for the phone calls are excruciating! xx

Nope we just got the day 1 fertilisation phonecall and then the day 5 call which is just tell you what time to come in for transfer & they'll also tell you how many have made it to day 5. I think if they want to transfer on day 3 you might get more calls. I don't know if other clinics phone more than ours did. If you have any frosties they'll tell you after ET xx

Hey. I had 13 eggs collected, 7 made it to blastocyst but only 3 were deemed good enough, so one was transferred and two were frozen. I'm now 14 weeks pregnant with the one transferred. Good luck xx

I totally get it I’m in the same position I’ve had 6 eggs 4 fertilised and I’m terrified of what happens now what if they don’t make it what if they aren’t good enough quality? It’s taken so much to get to this point! I wish you Good luck xxx

I’d say you’ve got good numbers there 😊 first time I had 9 eggs and only three fertilised and one made it to day 3. Second go four out of 7 fertilised and had two at day 5 (tho one not good enough to freeze) and am currently 10+4 weeks. Wishing you lots of luck ... it’s a really hard wait 🤞🤞🤞 xxx

On our 2nd round we got 25 eggs collected and 15 fertilised with all looking good at day 3 but then only 2 good enough by day 5. We had one 5BA blastocyst put back and we now have a 6 month old baby girl so it’s defo quality that counts. Our other embryo is now in the freezer x

Try not to be too disheartened - remember it only takes one xxx I think all clinics are different, ours checked the embryos the day after ET to determine if they thought we would get 5 day blastocysts and then not again until day 5. It is definitely a stressful process - with a million ups and downs! Try to stay positive. I’ve downloaded a mindfulness IVF app and it’s definitely made a difference for me. Might be worth a try? Xxx

I had 6 collected 4 fertilised. Had one 4bb transfered and got a bfp and we have another 2 3bb’s in the freezer. You have a really good number xx

I had 24 collected (was massively over stimulated!), 15 of which fertilised, 11 went on to be ‘viable’, but ended up with 6 blastocysts. It’s definitely about quality. I know what u mean about feeling a bit worried when the numbers drop but try not to. I’m Currently pregnant on our second round with 3 Frosties remaining xx wishing u lots of luck!! Xx

Congratulations Mrs R what lovely news. So the same goes with you as it has with alot of people who have commented on my post. Its not quantity its quality! I going to keep reminding myself of that until ET on Tuesday.

Lots of rest this weekend as your body needs to be ready for Tuesday. I was also told that if you laugh through ET it helps! Keep smiling and your happy ending will soon be here x

I have no idea but my nurse told me when I was going in for egg transfer and her and my husband made me laugh and smile through the whole thing so worth a try! It must be something to do with the being positive!

I rested after ET, I didn’t do anything strenuous. I continued to work but when at home I put my feet up and chilled out. Whether that helped I don’t know but definitely worth taking it easy if you can, it’s a small price to pay if it helps x

My clinic does transfers on both day 3 or 5 so it depends of embryos.

It's only provisional so if not ready by Monday then they will call me in the morning to reschedule xxx

We had 12 collected, only 3 fertilized and only 1 matured enough. That one was a winner though and I'm now 14 1/2 weeks. Remember it only takes 1 strong one. Hopefully you'll still get a couple freezable just in case. Good luck x

6 eggs is still pretty awesome, it only takes one... we got 8 5 fertilised 1 made it to 5 day transfer I was convinced it would not work. I’m now 8 weeks pregnant stay positive and get plenty of rest xx🤞🍀
